Wow! That's a lot of beautiful stitching! It looks like full or Queen size too. I have always loved bright colors.Good job!
Thank you. It is a small queen size. The length is regular queen but across is a little narrow, the picture is on a queen bed. The actual stitch time is quick, it is the alignment in the hoop that takes the most time with each block a separate hooping. The two borders (the paisley and the multi color borders) are combined in a hoop. I did quilt around each of the cats but did not use free motion.
Your work is fabulous and interesting! I had fun looking at all the blocks and seeing how they were quilted. I have troube with that "quilt as you go" technique. I always get lumps, but yours is sooo flat! Nice work.
I start out basting each section, then stitch in the ditch before going in the hoop. This is only the second quilt I have made this way. It takes a while but it is worth it.
Next quilt I will try Quilters Select Free Fuse. It is a powder that is sprinkled between the quilt layers then ironed to fuse together. If you are interested, I can send the link where it was purchased.
I like the border a well, working on a Double wedding ring runner my son want to give it as a house warming gift he chose the colors and paid for them, as his Mom I work free.
Moms and sisters do work for cheap. Please post a picture when you runner is finished.
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the cat themes and beautiful colors.
This is such a beautiful quilt Pam, gorgeous bright colours and it looks great on your sister's guest bed. Love Chris
Thank you. The colors were chosen for the bedroom knowing the comforter and pillow shams are dark, thought the brights would be good.
Beautiful job... I love quilt as you go....
Thank you. Making a quilt as you go makes it possible to quilt it in the hoop.
The only time cats should be allowed on the bed. LOL. It turned out beautifully, sis.
Thank you. I agree with you. No animal should be allowed on the bed. Go visit #1 sis to see it up close. Don't look too close to see all the mistakes.
I love most cats, but especially yours in the quilt. This is remarkable work.
I found the fabric two years before the quilt was started. I knew immediately it was to be used for a quilt for my sister.
Oh, this is so beautiful! Quilt as you go - sounds like a great project!! Love the colors!! Hugs, Laura
What a stunning piece of work and one to be proud of. Great choice of fabrics too
Bright fabrics are my favorite and I am happy with the way it turned out. Thank you for your nice comment.
