Thanks for the update. Glad you are safe but praying for others that are not so lucky. Hugs
Yes Shirley they will need prayers long after the storm has past. Gov/insurance seem to be slow helping them and their immediate need to rebuild and get back to normal. It is a struggle.
Here is the post about that boat crew captain and his men- photo obviously was taken at an earlier time - God is still answering prayers!
Toogie how good it is to hear from you. I have been thinking about you all day so to see you here is brilliant news
Praise God for His protection!!!! I'm so glad you still have power and internet. It's a relief to hear from you. We have been praying up a storm (no pun intended) for all who have had to experience Ida. And my prayers continue since Ida is still a powerful storm. stay dry and stay safe. No heroics please.
I think that's praying away or praying down a storm! Still with you guys in prayer. Good news, Toogie.
Thanks and yes, praying still for others it is still affecting, those it has affected and those it will affect trying to deal with their individual situation. The sun is shining here, we have gotten very little rain. The winds are still here but just enough to be nice. A beautiful day here at home to which we are so thankful.
One of the forecasters/meteorologist apologized for being 50 miles off course. I’m glad he was for us, but feel really bad for others. His prediction may have been correct with his instruments, but we know God has control of the winds and can change any situation. We were told unofficially there is another storm coming now but we are hoping it will die down before it does any damage anywhere.
Prayers for everyones safety. I just watched the latest update and it does look bad. Stay safe and God Bless.
I've been praying for days for the safety of those in way of this storm. I can tell that it's going to be a bad one as I am 500 miles away and we are getting a steady "breeze". That's a long reach for a storm. Be safe my friend.
Yes, this thing has not downgraded even after landfall! It’s moving very slowly at 10 miles a hour north, so dumping major water and winds still Cat4- we are fine so far but the worse hasn’t come yet. The course changed slightly east so that helps us, but not others I’m sorry to say. It will be a long night and day tomorrow as it moves slowly inland.
I have been watching the progress of Ida. Difficult for me to imagine what it must be like. Stay safe Toogie. My love and thoughts are with you.
Thank you Sarah, I don;t like riding these hurricanes out and sure am glad when they're over. It does get pretty hair raising.
I've been praying also. We are going to experience the very outer bands so no concern here. I'm glad to see your state is following many of the same plans Florida has in place. These do save lives. I also know that many tree removal companies and power companies have already positioned workers to begin their work as soon as it is safe.
Yes, Dalton is home, with his family ready to be called and go, when it is time. We are starting to get some 'breeze' and occasional rain but nothing bad yet.
Hi Toogie, by now I hope that the main part of the hurricane has flown by in the night. It's of course Sunday evening here and I've just seen your message. I pray that you and your family will be safe and of course I'm keeping Carol and her family in my daily prayers. I just can't imagine the pain and anguish that she is going through.
God bless you all, and please let her know that she has people all around the world praying for her to have peace and love surrounding her, love Chris
I will Chris, thank you.
No, it hasn't flown by yet and hurricanes don't fly by like a tornado. They have large bands of winds and rain that last a good while, then calm when you are in the eye, then winds and rains again moving away slowly. The winds blow hard in a circular fashion, but the whole huge thing may move slow. I hate to feel and hear the wind gust. People have reported seeing the windows or doors 'breathing', it is such pressure. It will be a sleepless night tonight as we await Ida.
Toogie I have never experienced a hurricane or tornado but have seen the destructions it leaves behind. Right now it seems as if I am praying for the whole world. COVID, fires, draught, floods, hurricanes and so on. My heart brakes for all that are affected. You will be specially in my thoughts and prayers. May God protect you and your family. Hugs
Thank you Angie . Yes the world is in turmoil right now. With everything that is already happening and what is to come, like Ida, we know Jesus is coming soon too. More than ever, we need to be prepared.
I've been waiting all day for a post from you on your plans. I know what you're going through because I lived in Florida for 35 years. Been through many hurricanes. Sending prayers for you and your family and all those in the track of hurricane lda. Suzanna
Suzanna we are riding it out at home. We aren't near any body of water, so rising water 'shouldn't' be a threat. We are far enough inland that our concern is the winds and of course the rain, if the roof goes. I never have liked experiencing these hurricanes and it seems the older I get the more anxious I am or maybe it's because the storms have intensified and are more frequent, than other years. It has been so hot here that afterwards, with no power the mosquitoes will be bad as the heat. I'm sure I don't have to remind you about the mosquitoes than seem to blow in too.
Thanks for the prayers for our state and those affected with Covid. We need and appreciate them. Lindsay's funeral was today and as bad as the storm coming, Carol's life has been a storm for weeks now, losing her husband and her daughter within the same week. Pray for my friend please.
Toogie I was just listening to the National Weather Service predictions for the storm and praying for you and yours. What is your parish (like a county in other states, everyone)? Hoping you still have your home and pretty yard when it's all over, plus sanity, electricity, and a path to the grocery store!
We care about you Toogie. Praying that all in Ida's path have as good an outcome as possible.
Toogie, I grew up in Florida and know first hand what devastation hurricanes can produce. I'm sending prayers your way, for your family and all those who encounter the storm. Stay safe and let us know when you can, how it was! Hugs and prayers, Laura
Thanks Laura I'm worried more about the winds for us, but there are family further south that evacuated. You never know what destruction it will leave, but destroy it will. So sad, because people have been complaining about our electricity rates already so high, because of recovery of lines from Hurricane Laura. We are still paying for that storm and haven't went through this one.
Toogie I am thinking positive thoughts for you all with this. I have seen small bits about it in the UK news. Stay safe. Sorry I dont seem to be able to put together something more. Take care and good luck
