Well done indeed! I also have never seen zippers in rice bags. I do save the clear plastic zippered bags (like many others) to protect many items or to just keep similar small items together.
Thank you. Here in Australia there are a couple of brands that have similar bags. I also save the bedding bags with zips.
Well done Barb, isn't it great when we get inspired by others? Hope you are coping o.k. Love Chris
Yes Toogie does some interesting things that make me wonder how on earth did she do that? I am not a quilter just a sewer but like to try most things.
I am getting there bit by bit each day some days are good others not so good.
Love it! Your test run came out perfect. I like the blue fabrics.
Your rice bag comes with a zipper? I buy mine in 25 pound sacks (11.34kg) and it just has an over lock stitch of heavy thread, on a plastic sack. Did it come with the handle too or did you add that? Did you sew your braid directly to the bag ? Full of questions, I know-lol
Yes the bags have a strong zip at the top and is bag stitched about 2 inches down that you have to unpick when you are ready to use. The handles come on the bag. I measured the size and just made like a pillowcase and slipped the rice bag inside and folded down the to and stitched around it. The bag doesn't feel like plastic I put it through the washing machine before I started.
What a great bag. It just goes to show how one person sharing how they have created something gives others the idea and confidence to have a go too. Then the result is something great too. Your cousin will love this and probably have a go too.
Yes I like to see what others are doing. I am sure my cousin will love it. She has machines and I am sure could make it by is a farmer and very little sit down time. She just buys things and sends to me.
