Yes, the extension of the red and white stripes is perfect! Please don't fire your hubby!! Beautiful job and I appreciate you doing this for Veterans. Your right - they deserve it and more!! Hugs!
I’ll tell hubby he has one supporter- lol
I don’t like the cutting out part so I better keep him working. We are cutting out for stars today to go around a panel for a vet that was in the Navy. Bunch of quarter square triangles to make. Thanks!
Was too busy yesterday to look at the Projects section. Had to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the evening.
I like your second version better; this turned out so pretty! I like red, white and blue too - our flag is 3 horizontal stripes in those colours. That central panel is splendid!
The panel was passed on to me- I hope the one who passed it on likes it. I would be a nervous wreck to give any presentation. You are so smart.
Looks beautiful. Hugs
Thank you Shirley. The panel was passed onto me by our quilter Lynn. She said she had had it a while so figured she would never get it done. She passed me one or two more. I’m gonna work on one for a Navy veteran tomorrow if I can.
Well done I like how you have used the white fabric with the stars in it on the stripes.
This says it all and wouldn't look half as good with a fussy design around the panel.
Stay safe.
Thanks, I had just odds & end pieces of the white, no yardage, so I was hoping it was enough. My hubby asked me a couple times what was I gonna do if I ran out. I kept saying I think I’ll make it . I actually had a piece left😀
It is so very special that you give these lovely quilts to veterans. Stick a note in that says, my friend wanted you to know that she appreciates your service, too.
Can do! I usually put in a note about pattern choice, washing first few times with Color Catcher (reds especially)etc - it’s the least we can do for them
I love everything about this quilt. You are so creative. I know the person who receives it will love it also. I'm glad you are all being safe.
Sometimes I get myself in a bind, like on the red stripe at top right hand corner of the panel. I had no pattern, so I didn’t figure my flag stripes quiet the size I needed to reach the corner. As it was I had to’wrap’ the red stripe around the panel corner. I figured it out but shouldn’t have had any trouble if I’d have figured better. I fly by the seat of my pants-lol- so once in a while I hit a snag.-lol
I am going to start a Navy veterans panel tomorrow. I haven’t quite decided what I want to do with the fabrics I have on hand. Thanks for looking.
Toogie this is great and there is going to be one happy new owner. I couldnt get to the sewing group I go to today as a tipper truck got the tipper bit stuck under the bridge. I would have had to do a 50k diversion so it wasnt worth it. Covid is certainly affecting our lives in so many ways.
I came back to proof read and thought , ‘Boy you’re fast!’ I just posted-lol
Thanks and I know how disappointed you must have been not being able to enjoy the day you planned. I hope you sewed when you got home and made something spectacular!
Toogie after a exciting family day yesterday I had a very quiet one today and didnt sew. Didnt do much at all. Now I need to add to the recycling bin which will go early in the morning. Love the spots on the white fabric, the whole quilt really is super
I may need more than specs C, see my update. I’m like the scarecrow without a brain!
