** read this for pictures

Hi Cuties, I decided to post the second quilt with the Moda Apple Jack fabric separately so as not to confuse the two.
This is a tutorial from Jenny Doan at Missouri Star Quilt Company called Charms on Point. She shows how you sew your charm squares 6 across and 12 down. Then cut them from the 6th charm at an angle to the top right corner diagonally. Then cut at 7th charm at an angle to the bottom right corner diagonally.
You can see I put all my charms that I wanted to ‘frame’ around the charms the same and those were the ones I’d be cutting in half diagonally when I made those long cuts. I wasn’t sure how the other charms would fall in placement when you sew your top back together.
I didn’t take a picture of the whole process, but if you watch Jenny’s tutorial on You Tube, she explains everything well. I do want to say, you will lose your points when you add your border or if you just add binding, but piecing this is so easy. Easy is really an understatement, but looks like you really worked hard.
**The 1st picture has nothing to do with the steps making of this Charms on Point quilt.
I laid out my leftover half of layer cake from the Weave It quilt like this in long strips, because I was feeling I needed something quick and easy. However, this was when I was first getting shingle symptoms and I left it laid out on the floor and took a nap. When I woke up I grabbed them all up off the floor and cut into charms or 5” Squares.-lol-I woke up deciding I could put a little more effort into the making-lol
2-layout before cutting diagonal from 6th & 7th sqs
3- finished Charms on Point- back not shown as just red dots- my border cut at 3 inches in order for it to fit my width of fabric. Size finished at 41 inch square after quilting

Hope you like this one as well❤️Toogie

I love watching Jennys Videos. One does not need a pattern after watching them because she is so good in explaining. Your quilt is so cheerful and I am glad you are able to continue sewing. Hopefully your pain is not too bad.

I am much better, I think, so don’t worry. The rash and skin feels like a scrape or raw place. The nerve pain is occasional now and slept without a nerve pain med. I don’t like the way it makes me feel so if I can do with out, the better off i am.
I like Jenny’s videos too. She makes everything so easy for us. I have some of her block books. I get them as they become reduced. I love them because there are usually about 10 patterns inside and no advertisements!

I love this quilt too. It is just oozing the love you stitched in. I'm glad you are managing to create in spite of the pain you are in. I keep preying and hoping that day by day as you guilts pile up, your pain goes down.

Your prayers, along with others, are effective because last night was the first night I tried going without the nerve pain meds. I slept too! I just can’t take that stuff. I don’t like how it makes me feel, head wise.
I’m glad you like this quilt. I know the little ones like all the bright colors, so they should like this one.

What a happy quilt Toogie! You may have to send out for fabric if these shingles last much longer.

Speaking of that, I just got an email today from a nurse/quilter in Texas. She told me I should be receiving a package from UPS tomorrow. Fabrics!!!
She said let this be her donation to the quilts I make for CASA or relief quilt charities, she doesn’t have time right now. I’m sure as a nurse she has limited free time, poor lady. I was surprised and ALMOST speechless (but you know me, that’s hard to believe-lol) to say the least!
Bright colors do make one feel happier , don’t they.

What a great explanation as to how you achieved this lovely quilt. Toogie you have a great 'eye' of combining super fabric and colours into lovely quilts

My yellows in their row seem to outshine the rows of grays, row of greens, etc maybe I should have mixed the colors instead of trying to line them up. It’s kinda confusing trying to figure out how they will realign, but thank you. You’re always so supportive of my work.
