Cuties, I need to ask what you think of this fabric for a backing for my quilt top. Yea or Nae? It goes off sale today so I need to decide. I can find any yellows online that I’m sure of. This one may be more lemon yellow than golden yellow….Seeing these pictures together I’m doubting this, but of course you don’t see both sides at once. Queen size. Maybe neither…

I have to agree with the others - yellow is best, the black and white is too busy for that top, which I have to say turned out beautiful!
I love black and white, I have made a disappearing 9 patch in b & w with red in the centre patch, and I'm going for a red backing.

I bet your top is wonderful. Reds are easier to find it seems that the yellows. I had thought IF I had gotten the black& white for the reverse side, I could have made just about any color accent for accessories like throw pillows or bed runner and have a different look. I rather the yellow but just is hard to fine something suitable.
12452I found this too- thank you in many languages. The top fabrics were given to me so ‘thank you’ could be appropriate??? I remember when backings were just plain muslin, no choices. The picture was took of my pc screen so not too good but fabric background is white, not gray.

In this photo the English Thank You looks yellow. On other sites it is metallic gold, 😣 ugh…

Remember Avery’s yellow back? I didn’t realize I liked yellow that much until I made hers. It made me feel so good. My middle sis loves red and IF she would have ever learned to sew she would have used red with the black & whites. Actually, she’d have made it all reds-lol- I am still looking…
234497I think I’ll wait…maybe they will get the yellow in again, like in the center of the blocks (shown below). Thank you all for input. I like to quilt with bobbin and top threads the same color is one reason I thought black & white on back, so I could use white thread.

Thank you just my arm bothers me the most. I wanted to have this ordered and delivered so when I do feel I can handle this big quilt, I will have it.
169064I like the middle one best because it carries all the colors in it, however, there is so much motion on the top that it may make it too busy. The yellow would be a nice contrast as long as the shade goes with a color in the top.

Yes! I know that problem with buying fabric online!
If you have enough of the fabric leftover, maybe make the quilt reversible? Or, get more of one of the fabrics for the back.

Love the quilt top. You do some nice work. I use the same as what is on the front, you will just have to piece it.
Hope your shingles goes away soon.

SO much better, thank you. My arm hurt a good bit last night but I have been making precuts.🙄😃
I may just piece the back kinda like the red baby quilt with a inset of the black and white fabrics or blocks to get the same as my center yellow. It only comes 45” wide.
