Most digitising programs can use a bmp-file just as easily as a jpeg-file. But you need to have embroidery software and the ability to digitise or have it done for you. I, too, would recommand basketcase.
Thank you for your reply. What I would like to do is offer them to someone who can make use of them. I was given them years ago, have no idea where they came from. I am trying remember how long ago, best I can do is say when I bought my first embroidery machine a Brother it only had a 4x4 hoop and use cards, that should give you an idea of how long ago. LOL

I am sorry but you are out of luck I do not know of any program that converts a BMP file into a embroidery file. Some expensive machines have a scanning attachment that will turn a picture into a file. I am not sure about the quality.
