Very handsome! Thank you both for your service to our country...
Thank you, he was handsome with jet black hair and eyelashes that curled up prettier than any girl could have.-lol- I think still is handsome and even though hair is silver and gray he hasn’t changed as much as me.
I love Veteran's Day and what it means. Thank you for sharing your husband's picture. It saddens me a bit though--all the lives lost. Then when my Dad died at the age of 80 in yr. 2000 the military base where I we have lived since I was a baby said they had no one that could come and do the final farewell shots at the funeral. I felt it was a slap in his face. I still do. My dad served 20 + yrs, plus trained as sharp shooter and also first one documented to figure out how to serve hot meals to the men on the front lines in WWII. He served first in the Air Force and then in the Army. I salute all the men and women that served, died, survived and the ones that served their whole lives. For our freedoms!!
I’m sorry you dad wasn’t honored like you would have liked. Things change so much. Now sometimes taps are played by a recording not an actual solider playing bugle.
I once asked our Sheriff's wife why she married her sweet husband and all she answered was "Oh, that uniform." She married him at 17 as he went off to war.
Happy Veterans Day and thank you to your husband for having served our country.
And thank you to your Hubby's service as well as you serving with him. Our veterans are a very special portion of our countries population as it is in all countries of our crazy world. And their spouses too.
How old was your husband when this was taken?
