Several years ago, I embroidered a curtain using Annsown's method. When the location of the designs is finally decided, safety pin them on. Leave each cutout on the curtain until the stitching starts. That will help with the designs' alignment. I also taped the design on the hoop grid to be sure of the alignment. Hope that makes sense. Good luck and have fun with the project. Please post pictures when you are finished.
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions now to decide some times I think that is the hard part where the sewing is easy once you have your mind made up as to how it should look Thanks again Chris
Yes, a lot of time is spent decided fabrics, patterns etc whereas as you say the sewing and constructing is easy. Good luck and please show us your beautiful panels and your sewing room, when you’re finished.
I would make a border strip like others suggested. Then you can insert it into your panels. I like balance too, like Chris below, so whatever designs you use I would repeat the same on all four. That’s how I would place them, but again you do what makes you happy or feel good, in your space. I probably won’t ever get to visit-lol
It doesn't matter what you embroider, remember less is more. This is an important decoration rule.I learned this when I embroidered some pillows.
I exaggerated and ended up getting rid of them.
Hi Chris, I'm a Libran and love everything in neat rows, balanced etc. I agree with bemara (Maria) and think a border would look really great, either way it depends on your taste and what you think will look the best. Good luck with it all, love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
I would print out pics of designs, cut them out and temp. pin them on curtains and see what looks good to you :) They will be cute however you arrange them ! Have fun !!!
I would suggest like a border in a row. ... have fun with it, Maria
