can surely share it with all of you. Place a sheet of fabric softener between your fabric and your stabilizer ( yes it will be like a extra layer of stabilizer) and stitch your fabric out. I will make your project smell great. Perfect for gifts... or just for yourself. Love it on towels :)

I use them on TP projects. If I am not mistaken you should use used sheets.

I am new to the embroidery world and don't have all the stabelizers that U all talk about. I do have lots of used dryer sheets, as my daughter saves them and so for my first project I used two together. It worked! I am also very allergic to any cemicals but this didn't bother me at all. Thanks for confirming that what I did was correct.

This is a good idea, but keep in mind who the receiver is. Make sure they aren't allergic to fragrances.

I mentioned using a couple of used dryed sheets when I was out of stabilizer and how well it worked. You still get the great smell and not all the chemicals that might gum up your machine. I checked with my dealer and they said it was an inovative idea and with the chemicals already being used up in the dryer shouldn't harm my machine. I sometimes float them between the stabilizer and fabric, like when I emb. on TP or when making my eyeglass cases.

Thank you Adelmarie, and from what I read yesterday it will help keep the bugs and mice away if it is Bounce. HaHa!! Hugs, and a flower.

I am wondering about the chemical that impregnates the dryer cloth. Would it gum up my machine? would using this product void my warranty? Has anyone checked with their dealer about these issues. Call me cautious but I think I will pass on this. Maybe just run the dryer cloth over the finished product :)

I am new to machine embroidery and love reading everyone's tips and suggestions. Thank you for the great tip. I'm working on a quilt for my grand daughter and will give it a try this afternoon. I was so excited this morning when I signed on and realized I finally have over 100 flowers....that's cause for celebration..think I'll go stitch another design! Thanks everyone for all of your ideas, links and updates on where to go for the latest designs...you're the best!

Thanks for this tip, now here is my dumb ? Can this be used after you use the sheet in the dryer, I know you may not get as strong of a smell, but if it can be used after you dry your clothes even better for use as a stabilizer

Sounds like it would work to me. Especially with a name brand like marymoore suggested. They still have a nice scent to them... even after a use or two. *4all!

mary, I'm curious - why does it have to be a name brand??? thank you .. **4u

adelmarie by adelmarie 15 Jul 2008

I am not sure it might be because of the quality. I always use snuggle :)

marymoore by marymoore 15 Jul 2008

yes it is the quality of the fabric softner store brands you can usually see through where as the name brands are stronger hold up better
