This made me sob. I was a CASA volunteer for a decade and I can tell you that these children need to be wrapped in love and kindness. Thank you and your friends who selflessly give to these precious gifts from God.
Oh J, I thank you for your support of these children. I can only imagine how stressful it was for you, being so kindhearted as you are. I didn’t mean to make you cry but I’m sure you’ve shed tears before for these children. My heart aches for them and their future. Showing the love of Christ is so important for them to experience. God knows them, loves them and uses all of us, as servants for His purpose. May they each be blessed.
Merry Christmas to you, Mike and all the family!❤️Toogie
They are all so beautiful!! Job well done. 😊 Happy children.
Thank you, I was thinking about you just last week. I think I had seen a variation of a wedding ring quilt and so I thought of you-lol- hope all is well on your end. Merry Christmas!
You belong to an awesome group to make and give so many quilts. I have no idea how you all can accomplish so much. I rarely get to sew at all these days. Seems like all I do is laundry, shopping and cooking. And the quilts are all so beautiful! Congratulations Toogie.
You may have a family with needs, children home.
We are empty nesters and hubby supports my endeavors. He will cook if I have to finish something. As far as laundry that’s about once a week. My mom used to do laundry on Fridays, when she lived alone. I was doing it daily, but I had 3 children, so a family of five.
Covid put a halt to shopping or at least it’s mostly grocery shopping now.
I hope the new year will give you more opportunity to sew and do what you enjoy, not just work, work, work.
Wishing you all the best. Merry Christmas to you and your family.❤️Toogie
Oh my Goodness!! What beautiful pictures, filled with quilts stitched with love. There will be 66 children whose lives will be happier and warmer thanks to you all. Now I hope you all can take a rest and then have a lovely Christmas filled with love and joy with your friends and families.
We will enjoy them when the time is here, meanwhile there is work to do! I’m binding 7 runners and just told my hubby I’d like to make at least 3 more, 2 for friends , 1 for sister. Merry Christmas Karen to you & hubby!
Toogie, what a wonderful group of quilts. I miss the group that met and made quilts for the Children's Cancer Center and Hospital in Orlando. But these are greatly appreciated, I am sure.
Bless all of you for your talents and dedication in making the quilts.
We have all been sewing at home and some have met only to turn quilts in or exchange quilts in progress. I miss the sewing together but we plan on meeting again the second Thursday in January, God willing.
This makes my Christmas, giving to children in unstable situations, maybe making a difference, letting them know they are loved.
Merry Christmas to you and your family❤️Toogie
Such great work for such a great cause... I am sure that each one will be loved by it's new recipient...
Kim, my heart is full thinking about the kids receiving their quilts, hoping they know how much we do care for each one of them.
Sew wonderful of your church group. Our group fell apart. I miss doing quilts to give away, people are so appreciative of your work.
This isn’t my church group. We do have our church group, WOM, aka Women on Missions , to give prayer quilts, also. This is another group I belong to that used to meet twice a month. We make for Quilts of Valor, CASA, and for policemen to have in their patrol car to wrap around (hug) a child, if they need to remove a child from the home. I forget what that group is called.
We are supported through monetary donations for QOV. The other groups, we use our own supplies or buy batting, etc with our own funds. Donated fabrics are from mostly quilters that have passed away. The families give to a member to bring in for us to share.
I miss our regular meeting too. Thank goodness for internet or smart phones, we can share knowledge of patterns or work in progress. I hope your group will regroup soon. Quilting for times like these have saved my sanity during these years of Covid.
Have a wonderful Christmas!❤️Toogie
What a wonderful and colourful collection. Your group is awesome!
I knew you and others would enjoy seeing this display of color and workmanship. I love all my friends there and here on Cute! Have a merry Christmas Martine❤️Toogie
Awesome, awesome, awesome. You ladies deserve pats on the back.
Just don’t pat too hard-lol- the back is finally better.
Thought you would enjoy the many colors and designs, merry Christmas, my friend!❤️Toogie
Warm quilts to warm their hearts. Such a great donation.
Toogie, what a wonderful sight. Such caring and generosity, I'm sure it made their Christmas - the ladies AND the children AND the CASA folk who get to be the go-between.
It is a beautiful sight, isn’t it! Love all the options to fit each child’s personality or need.
You’re right, it sure has made my Christmas! I’m sure it may be the rare joy an advocate experiences too. One said she has to just sit in her SUV in front of her house to ‘let go’ , before she is able to go in her own home to enjoy or face the needs of her own family. These advocates are the true angels on earth.
Merry Christmas my Alabama friend!
What a wonderful gift your group is giving, you all are a blessing to your community. Every single quilt in the pictures looks so pretty and surely each will be treasured by the recipient.
Usually no one knows what the other is making so it’s a joy to see the differences in design and color. I have found my place here. God says don’t waste your talents so I’m trying to serve, by using my gift. It is true about giving, I am blessed.
Well done. Looks like a great variety something for everyone.
It is indeed and it wasn’t planned, just make what you feel led to make. Thank you so much for commenting.
I hope you’re able to have a very Merry Christmas and we all have a better New Year!❤️Toogie
