Do you now also have an Apple computer? if not your embroidery software from the PC does not work on the Apple ....
No. I am looking at options first. I knew there was somebody on cute that had gotten an apple laptop some time ago and ran into the problems and fond out what to do and that's why I came here to get information.
And even if nobody here had an apple laptop, they would be have info for me.
Oh my! I wasn't aware of much of this info at all! Please keep us all updated so we can be prepared before a computer disaster strikes.
Hi, I have a MacBook Pro that is relatively new. I use these little adaptors to transfer files to my machine. I use Embrilliance software to design on my MacBook and transfer them onto USB thumb drives. You insert this into the USB C port, and plug the USB into it. Easy Peasy
For the Apple you can get something that plugs into the same place as the charging ports which will have various possibilities for getting your files, like USB external hard drive etc.
Whether you purchase Pc or Apple, neither one will have a Cd or Dvd drive, but they are easily available for purchase and not too expensive.
I recently helped a friend of mine to set up her new PC. One of the things we wanted to do was to purchase a virus protection. Microsoft made her believe she could only bring in Microsoft approved programs. I found Microsoft very controlling and snoopy. It still reminds me once a week to turn on my camera.
My suggestion is to go on YouTube and check out Videos about the Apple/Mac computer and you will find out a lot of help.
Warning. An external drive that was used for Windows is not visible on a Apple/Mac unless you format the drive. I bought a new external hard drive and formatted it to be able to be used with either
Natürlich macht Mikrosoft vorschläge für die Software aber du kannst dir jegliche selber aussuchen, anders wie bei Apple da nur wenige Firmen für sie arbeiten, beide Firmen haben ihre Kunden unter "Kontrolle"!
Please note:
Formatting a drive will wipe the data from the drive. So don't accidentally remove all your saved files by formatting a drive you use for your backup and/or your design files.
Make sure the software you have and still want will work with whichever system you buy.
Sorry, I don't know about Apple, but a laptop always has a usb in/out, an iPad doesn't.
Thanks.
I have an ipad, but my laptop quit but I have an old one that lets me do very little. As for sites, this is the only one it lets me got to! lol.
So I am looking at an apple for a replacement.
Actually the newest laptops don't have USB drive ports. They are all moving toward the USB C, which is a lot smaller.
That's not true, the newer laptops have USB 4, the old ones usb 2 or 3. On the other hand they want you to store your data in a cloud, you have to think if you want that.
also, Appel cell phone and ipads should make a securityuptate, four days ago a major security vulnerability has been found!!!!
