Hi my Cutie friends, I'm sure by now you have been seeing the devastating floods we are experiencing here in NSW and Queensland. I've been in tears just watching the townships of Lismore and Ballina where people have lost everything, houses, loved ones, animals, stock and their whole living. It's just dreadful what Mother Nature is doing with La Nina.

I'm sitting here in my back room sewing and it's pouring rain outside and windy! We are lucky as we are on the coast, but about 5 minutes away from the beach. A lot of Sydney beaches are being eroded. The ocean is too dangerous to swim in and the beaches are closed here in Newcastle.

The world is in turmoil too and we feel so helpless with the war going on in the Ukraine, I pray common sense prevails and the world leaders can come to a peaceful arrangement.

On a lighter note, we got back on Tuesday from being away at our Niece's wedding down in Lake Crackenback. I posted a picture last week of how far away it was.

Well, it rained the whole weekend, but that didn't deter our spirits. The sun came out on Sunday and Monday for a while and we got some great pictures of the family.

Emma looked gorgeous as did Marlo and I'm adding some pictures below so you can share in their special day.

Unfortunately everyone bar me and one of my other niece's children have tested Positive to Covid. I had a PCR test yesterday and I was negative. Poor Trev has it, but he said it's just like a mild case of a bad head cold. Thankfully we both had our 3 shots consisting of 2 of the AstraZeneca and 1 Pfizer booster. I may still get it, but I don't want to till after the 12th Marcy when all the family are meeting for our 50th wedding anniversary celebrations. Covid has stuffed us up a lot this year with trying to get together.

I hope and pray that everyone is doing o.k. overseas and keep safe my friends.

Here are some photos of the wedding weekend. Love Chris

1. Emma (bride) and her sister Lauren
2. The bridesmaids
3. Emma and Marlo just married
4. Emma and Marlo on the knoll, it just stopped raining enough for some photos about 4.20pm!!
5. Our elder daughter Dana with Ryke, Jasana and Aqualina
6. Amy, Steve, Ophelie and Delphi
7. Trev and I
8. The young cousins, Lizzie (my other niece's girls Mia and Lila) along with Ophelie, Delphi and Jasana.
9. The older cousins, Dana, Amy, Lizzie, Emma and Lauren.
10. Trev, me and our girls Dana and Amy in the photobooth - it was hysterical, everyone making faces!
11. The older girls, Dana, Amy and Lizzie stroking Trev's head. They all used to do this when Trev's father was alive, he loved it!!
12. Our beautiful daughters Dana and Amy
13. Amy and Ophelie, she's getting so tall!
14. Aqualina and Ophelie, these girls are only 8 weeks apart in age, but Ophelie is shooting up. Her Dad Steve, is over 6 feet and I think she's going to be as tall. Mind you Emma is 6 feet as well.
15. Trev and I on the ski lift up to Mount Thredbo in the National Kosciuszko State Forest. In the background is the village of Thredbo, where in 1997 Stuart Diver was the only person alive who survived a massive mudslide.
16. Steve with Delphi.
17. All the cousins on Lake Crackenback canoing, board paddling.

"Just before midnight on 30 July 1997, the village of Thredbo in Kosciuszko national park felt a rumbling that sounded like thunder, as 2,000 cubic metres of earth slid down the mountainside, destroying the Carinya and Bimbadeen lodges and burying the 19 people inside under metres of debris.

After more than 60 hours of excavation a team of firefighters found the sole survivor, 27-year-old ski instructor Stuart Diver, trapped under slabs of concrete.

He had spent nearly three days underground with freezing water and mud up to his neck, stuck in rubble next to his wife, Sally, who did not survive.

After hours of careful excavation, Diver was finally pulled from the debris. As he emerged into the light, he reportedly told a paramedic, “that sky’s fantastic”.

After an inquest, the coroner found the landslide had been caused by the poor condition of the Alpine Way, high above the lodges, combined with heavy rain and a leaking water main under the road."

Beautiful pictures. I had no idea about the weather in Australia. Hope you are keeping safe. Our news is just full of Ukraine and I just cannot believe what those brave people are going through.

Hi Sarah, yes, Australia's east coast is in so much devastation. The roads have been washed away and therefore some townships are locked in. We have thousands of volunteers who are trying to help get rid of the mud. We have a group known as the "mud army". They come from all over the place to help clean up people's homes.
It's been heart-wrenching watching people who have lost absolutely everything, just getting away with the clothes they had on. One feels so helpless.
We have the TV on all day watching all the issues that are happening in the Ukraine, just can't believe it! Love Chris

What a wonderful celebration! Beautiful bride and groom and your family looks well and healthy!
I'm praying for your area of the world as well as many others. These are trying times, but at least we don't have to wash our clothes on rocks. Thank you, Jesus for that.

Ha ha Jerrilyn, yes, I don't think that would help our washing. Our poor people up north are really in trouble. We are expecting more rain over the weekend too! I'm sitting out the back looking out into my reserve and it's a "pea souper" fog everywhere! Love Chris

What a wonderful time you all had! I'm so glad the rain didn't put a damper on the festivities. It's amazing how the family grows, and we are so privileged to watch them grow through your pictures. Please be careful. Flooding can be so dangerous.

Thanks Karen, yes, we are very fortunate in that we aren't in the area where the flooding is. It's just heart-wrenching seeing all those people who have literally lost everything but the clothes they had on! Rescuers are doing everything they can and food parcels are being done up as quickly as possible, but some of the remote townships are going to struggle for ages. Love Chris

That's wonderful Mary, hope you get to celebrate it with all your family. We are all getting together on the 12th March now as Amy and family had it, then one of Ben's partner's girls had it and now Trev has had Covid, so we should all be right for next weekend. I just hope I don't get it, I'm still negative at the moment. Love Chris

Thanks Laura, I wish we could. I’m sitting here with the rain outside absolutely bucketing down. We are alright. I’m just about to post pictures of the coastline where we live in Newcastle. Love Chris
