I have been in JoAnn's a couple of times, mostly for notions. I am lucky I have at least 5 stores that carry fabric within 5-10 minutes from me. I do place online orders from Fabric.com and Missouri Star. MS shipping takes forever. I keep saying I will not buy any more fabric until I use up most of my stash. We all know how that goes. Of course, we will continue to hear the excuse of "We don't have enough help." I won't get started on that because that would be a ranting post from me. Thanks for giving us some new sites with great shipping service. Suzanna
Oh Suzanna, I would be so tempted if I had so many fabric shops nearby! I usually have mostly enough in my stash for most projects but always seem to need one more piece to finish. And you are so right about MSQC taking forever to ship. I don't know if any complaining would help or not because I could not contact their sister site of quiltsbyme.com . They had a Contact button but you are unable to sens a message, so I contacted MS to alert them. There were 4 advertisements that were very offensive to me about devil worship or occult. Advertisements are suppose to be forbidden of any kind but nothing has been removed. I contacted Missouri Star twice by email and once by phone. Each time they said they would contact the person over the site, but I check last week and the post are still there. This and the forever shipping has really turned me against MS.
I have used Fabric.com as a source for on-line fabric purchases...and have been happy with their quality and shipping time.

I agree. I told Karen below I used them for the 108” backing for this quilt.

Kicking my heels together. RebsFabStash is having an open house this weekend. Anyone within driving distance (north central ID or southeastern WA) should definitely make an effort to stop in. Remnants sell for only $12/lb. Check out their online store using sewpam's link below or their Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/search/t...
I assume you’re in driving distance! Or are you going by clicking your heels?-lol just teasing you if I was close I’d be right there with you. Let us know what you come home with.
Hi Toogie. I am lucky, RebsFabStash, an online shop, about 5 minutes from where I live, will let you in the store to shop Tuesday through Fridays. On Monday they are busy with weekend orders, so no in store shopping. The reviews online have been very good, check them out. here is the link.

I have also had very good service with Fabric Utopia in Indiana. I placed an order on April 1st received it on April 5th I live in Idaho (the local shop no longer had it their inventory). Here is the link http://www.fabricutopia.com/
Thank you for the new to me sites. I will give it a search for fabrics I have ordered before and compare prices. I do like when a company sends the order out right away. I know they blame a lot on the shipper but this ‘daily deal’ site doesn’t even send to the shipping service for 13 days is unreasonable to me.
Toogie - I have been ordering online too. Although I have a Hobby Lobby only about 4 miles away, I found that they did not have what I was needing. Last year I was doing a Star Wars quilt for our 2nd great-grandson's nursery. I ordered, but it took well over 6 weeks to get it. I was happy with the fabric but having to wait to start something was a pain. This year I ordered some backing that a friend recommended to me. Along with the quilt backing I ordered a quilt bundle. Well, that was ordered on March 3rd, and I got word today that they are trying very hard to get it shipped out by the end of next week. I think I am going to have to rethink some of my online shopping. LOL I did place an order from Joann's last month, and was getting thread that the store only had one of, plus the Pellon 725R back for the applique. I actually got it quickly and freight was only $1.99. Can't drive the 15 miles to the Joann's for that now with the price of gas.
Isn’t that the truth about gas prices! I have found Hobby Lobby has a better stock of quality than JoAnns. At least that’s been my experience. I have not placed an online order from HL but have bought their fabrics and been pleased to use their % off coupon. They have 108” backings that I have used on several quilts and I’ve been very satisfied.

I have been careful too! I did pick up some fabric curbside from JoAnns a couple of times. I have purchased faux leather (vinyl) on Amazon and some vinyl online stores. My Punk Embroidery was my go to place for all that white vinyl I used for the wedding napkin rings. Back at the near beginning of the Pandemic, my sweet hubby signed me up for a monthly sewing box, out of Canada. I receive a sewing pattern, fabric, thread and a notion each month. That has been such fun. But, they are raising their price (and they weren't cheap before) - so, I need to decide whether to keep receiving it or end my subscription.
Hope you are feeling better every day, Toogie! Hugs to you, Laura
Thank you Laura. I’m not resting or sleeping well at night. Last night I slept pretty good because I took my nerve pain med the dr gave me when I recently had shingles. That helped me sleep, only getting up once during the night for the bathroom, then was able to go right back to sleep.
Missouri Star sometimes does a monthly shipment like your husband signed you up for, I think, or I know they did once. I didn’t sign up. It takes me almost a month to get anything from them, and I’m only 2 states away.
I have not stepped foot in or ordered from Joanne's in well over a year. I am not impressed with their quality at this time. I do like to go to Hobby Lobby. It's good to hear there is a store we can order from and get good quality goods in a timely fashion. That has been a big reason why I have not ordered on line.
I do like Missouri Star quality however their full filling or processing your order is horrible, then shipping takes a while. I saw once my order was finally sent out it set in Southaven, Mississippi 5 days!
I also ordered once from fabric.com and got good quality quilting fabric for my 108” backing. It was the same fabric Missouri Star had but was about $3 a yard cheaper. I used it in and on my 3,000 something 2 1/2 inch quilt.

During Covid I ordered from our Spotlight Store similar to your JoAnns I also ordered from Missouri Star I do use them a lot.
I can’t imagine how long it took you to receive an order from MSQC . Their shipping processing to me is almost a month and I am only 2 states away. I do like their quality and their daily deals, though.
Hi Toogie, I never buy fabric on line as I've got my Thorpes sewing machine shop only a 20 minute drive away and Spotlight is only 5 mins away. During Covid I just used my stash of which I have loads still to go through! Love Chris
I too have used mostly my stash. I like my bolts I ordered from www.marshallsdrygoods.com . I ordered the 45” yellow gold bolt I used on my black and white quilt and my recent jelly bean for Declan. I also used my 108” on my Queen Prairie Star for hubby’s cousin and my Skateboard for CASA donation. I still have fabric left on my bolts. It wasn’t much more money than buying by the yard and I now have plenty for other projects.

Hi dear and yes I too have bought more fabric on line over the past two years. My online shops are UK based so no good to you. One shop sends pretty much instantly and it’s brilliant and the stuff is super. The other I ordered once and it took ages to arrive and due to the wait and quality, never again. I was able to sell the stuff on as it wasn’t suitable for my purpose. A 100m roll of interfacing for machine embroidery as it was far too thin. I do still frequent my bricks and mortar shop but pre Covid 2-3 times a week, now 1 every 3-4 weeks as the super shop assistant a friend no longer works there and the owner remodelled the shop and it’s claustrophobic inside now with far too much squashed in. I was able to buy a 100m roll of quality stabiliser from them. I have noted that the mail order I bought the too thin stabiliser from that folk are constantly putting up the length of time they are waiting for their orders which are 3-4 weeks and more. In that time the ideas you had for a project have vanished and it’s frustrating waiting. I was devastated when my friend left the shop but actually it’s been a great saving in my pocket. A friend of mine regularly orders from Jordan’s in the States for her special quilting fabrics. Well Toogie it’s going to be interesting seeing replies from others on this super question.
I like Donna Jordan’s videos on YouTube but I haven’t ordered anything from them yet. They do handle good brands it seems.
You really gave me a much needed laugh when you said
‘In that time the ideas you had for a project have vanished and it’s frustrating waiting.’ That’s how I feel with Missouri Star.
