Beautiful stitch outs Chris...as usual... I know how you love Sweet Pea designs.
Hi Kim, you got that right. I do admit that I'm a sucker for applique and FSL. Have a great Easter weekend, love Chris
Just simply gorgeous, Chris!!
Thanks so much Vicki, I love getting praise from you digitisers, it makes my day. Love Chris
They are so Stunning!! You did Excellant work and all Awesome!!!
They you Sonja, I'm pleased with the first one, will finish the second one today. Love Chris
Happy you got all those accomplishments in today. Dreadful disease but my wishes are the same and hope my son and his wife will care for me if the need arises. My daughter doesn't visit except holiday--I go see her. She does not break her routine for nothing. I would have liked to have taken my 90 y/o mother in and suffered the consequences that would have arose but my husband said no. He wouldn't have been able to cope with her being cold all the time while we wilted or the t.v. loud so she could hear, or her getting up at 3 a.m. wondering around---was going downhill overnight, into the hospital and her Dr. told me to move her to a nursing home. That made it even worse and she further went downhill until another hospitalization, 2 heart attacks and gone overnight. I still have nightmares of what I could have done. It is hard and my prayers are with all.
Chris, I can't always stay online and especially to read all comments, although if I get pics to come up I'll take quick peeks. I am so sorry to hear you had Covid from this post. Praying you will recover fully and get back to Mum and church participation. I am still wearing my masks in public here in the US. They say they don't help unless you have all those special ones but I figure my 2 layer homemade ones are better than nothing as I see everyone NOT wearing them. Scary.
First, your shams are gorgeous! So nice to have a match for the quilt.
Second, I know what you are going through and understand how she can't work the microwave. Mom couldn't remember how to backstitch and would call me long distance, when they charged by the minute, to tell her what was wrong with her machine. I would tell her HOW and when she tried that, she would say, "well you fixed it, it's working now."
She had to spend her last couple years in a nursing facility. It was hard, but she was in a wheelchair too.
I'm glad Trev went by and checked on her. He sounds like my hubby, a good man.
It doesn't sounds like your symptoms are bad so enjoy your solitude, while you can. You know once it is over, you'll be in full swing again, and will hardly have time to catch your breath.-lol
Thanks Toogie, I'm really pleased with my pillowcases, they look great.
Thanks for your concern too, it's so hard. I've just rung her and told her she has a carer coming today for lunch, so I hope she finds something to feed her with.
I am so fortunate in that I feel like I've just had a stuffed nose, feeling wonderful today. I'm just about to try to make some hot cross buns! Wish me luck. Love Chris
Beautiful pillow covers!!! How hard this must be for you, not being able to leave but knowing your Mum needs care. Is it possible she could stay at your house for a few days, until you are fully recovered? Just a thought. I send you good thoughts and prayers!! Hugs, Laura
Laura, Chris is in quarantine and therefore can't expose her mom, I know you forgot. I know she has to worry about her, though.
Hi Kim, no unfortunately, as I have Covid I can't have close contact with anyone. It's the law here in New South Wales and for that matter all over Australia. Thanks for your prayers and good wishes.
I'm just so sad not being able to participate in our Easter church services. We have the foot washing service tonight, Good Friday service tomorrow and the
Service of Light Saturday and then we all go to Redhead Beach for the Dawn service and lighting of the new fire. Love Chris
Not sure where my mind was!!! Of course you don't want your Mum exposed to Covid! My face is red!! Hugs, Laura
Your whole set is very pretty. Job well done. Happy Stitching Brenda Lea
Chris how I feel for you. I am far too far away to pop in and help your mum. You have reminded me that my mum put a tin of tomato soup into her microwave... from then on the plug was removed at the wall. Surprisingly the microwave still worked after her mishap. Love your work and again so sorry that you havnt been able to get away due to that interesting little Covid bug
Hi Caroline, yes, it's amazing the things I've found when I'm at Mum's place. In cupboards, in the laundry and in her ensuite! Mum put a bowl of cereal in there and it nearly burnt. She left a meal in there that grew fungus and then had midges all over the place.
I'm thankfully keeping busy and have got some more sewing planned today. Yes, that little Covid bug is so inconvenient!
I was all planned to do some baking, so decided to get the ingredients I need out on my kitchen bench when I realised I didn't have chocolate chips, sugar and icing sugar. I'll have to get one of our kids to go do some shopping for me today.
As it's Good Friday tomorrow (it's now just gone 6.30 Thursday morning as I write this) all the shops are shut. Love Chris
Love Chris
Will pray 4 your Mum and God be with you my friend. Why is she living by herself if she has a disease? Here the nursing homes are excellent with people like her hugs xx
Hi Carolyn, thanks for your comment.
Mum has always told me she doesn't want to go into a nursing home, so to that end I've been doing everything I can to abide by her wishes. Unfortunately, the time is coming soon when once our Home Care package won't be enough, then it will be necessary for Jewls and I to make the decision to have her put into full time care.
We've had dreadful things happening in our nursing homes over the past few years, there's also been the real scare of the pandemic with Covid. Our aged care services are under strict observation at the moment.
So, Mum sees this on TV and worries she is going to have to live under the conditions that have been shown. Of course, you and I know that it's not every nursing home that has issues like elder abuse, short staffing issues etc.
I've already been to one which is literally just about 150 metres down the main road from where Mum lives. Unfortunately they don't take animals and so Miss Lily will have to go and live with Jewls.
Trev doesn't want Lily living with us as she is a yappy little maltese terrier and besides her having no road sense, is not trained, he just doesn't like her. We had dogs for 26 years and we want to still travel. Love Chris
Will keep praying .You guys have been awesome to her and she likely knows that God be with you hugsxxx
Your finished pillow slips will look beautiful when they are on the bed. It sounds like you are making the most of your time at home and enjoying it too. But I know you are frantic worrying about your Mum. I would worry too. I'm glad Steve is checking on her now and the kids are old enough to be helpers.
Hi Karen, thanks I think they will too. I'm happy that the family are helping out. It takes a heavy weight off my shoulders this week. Only 4 days to go till I can see Mum so that keeps me going. Love Chris
