Wowzer! Quite impressive especially knowing you did it in a week!
The graphic design of this quilt really kept me intrigued with it for quite a while. I can see where having a system to keep track of it all is a "must do" to get such a brilliant creation! Love it!
Iām glad you like it. Itās finished except for the binding. Iām anxious to see how the quilter quilted it. I am supposed to get it Thursday if my back is better to go pick it up.
Another great quilt. It is one on my bucket list. One day.
Happy Stitching Brenda Lea G
Thank you Brenda. I say go for it! If you can read a graph the rest is easy, not as hard as you might think. Did you look below? I added a border.
Bargello quilts are so mesmerizing. Your top is wonderful!!!
I was thinking Bargello before I finished reading about this. Boy it really fools the eye too--yes looks like it is waving in the wind. Beautiful with beautiful colors.
You are too good. Amazing work
Thank you Anita. Some people are good to come up with these patterns and thank goodness, if I can't figure it out by looking at the picture, I can still read and follow a pattern. Did you see the pictures I added below? I put the border on after getting enough of the dark blue fabric, so now I have made two of these quilts, but just alike.
Omg Toogie...this is stunning!
Thank you Vicki, I have since then but a border on it and made a second just like it, look below.
Absolutely gorgeous! It must have taken forever to make this.
You would find it hard to believe if I told you 4 days, so Iām not saying-lol Thanks
My group was speechless to see I made 5 (60x80) quilt tops since our last meeting. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Our last meeting was June 23 and we met July 14, so a 3 week span.
Here were my 5 strips sets I made, but I only used 4 for each quilt top. Twenty different color strips arranged the same order in each set.
First one with border added
Second one on top queen bed
Beautiful. It reminds me of a flag waving in the wind. The placement is perfect. I have been wanting to make a similar quilt, at this time I am chicken.
I just finished a second one yesterday. I had to make it exactly like this one because I had already made one strip set. The pattern said to make 5 (20 strips) sets. It only took 4 so instead of ripping out or wasting, I made 3 more sets for a second one. Once you learn the process and reading the graphs, itās really very easy. Donāt be scared. I was mostly concerned with color placement because I wasnāt sure how they would fall in the design. Each set has to be in the same order as the first before you start cutting again.
Beautiful!!Your red, white and blue is perfect for a QOV. You should try an all blue, I did one with blue batiks because I wanted a quilt that looks like Lake Michigan. They are amazing to see the design emerging, aren't they?
Exciting yes! I love Bargello or some of them, at least. Would love to see yours. Thanks
Oh, Toogie...this is gorgeous...and that does not do it justice. The recipient will be overwhelmed to receive this...
Thank you K, Iām not sure who it will go to but I hope I can be there to see it presented.
OMG this is amazing!! It is beautiful .... Great work ! Anyone would be lucky to get this quilt. I think the waterfall version would be stunning also!
I do and I just wish I had the blues! The fabric blues, not the blues-lol- you know what I mean. Thanks, Iām glad you like it.
Hi Carolyn, ooh! this is absolutely stunning. I'd love to keep this one, but I know your passion for the QOV's and I bet there will be lots of broken hearts when there is more than one veteran who might want this. Stunning work, once again. Love Chri
Hi Chris, I am assuming youāre speaking to me, Toogie. Lol- My leader said as much too, how could I give away? I know I can always make another if I do desire. I like the challenge of trying something different. Thanks for looking, commenting. I hope you are getting the help with your mum, you so desperately need. ā¤ļøToogie
Yes, of course I am speaking to you he,he he!!!! Sorry I was replying to Carolyn on another post and had her name on my mind, sorry for putting the wrong name in. Love Chris
P.S. I've sent you a PM
So beautiful. Will look super when the border is added. hugs
I talked to Sharon today and she is getting my border fabric ready for me. Thank you
Oh my goodness, it is stunning! Kudos to you for attempting this in spite of being told you were crazy to try it. Keep being crazy, please.
Honestly, I thought I was looking at crochet! This is absolutely gorgeous. Great job and I love your Veteran sentiments. Truly honorable.
Great to see you comment! Iām glad you like it but had to laugh when you thought it was crochet. I have seen crochet thinking it was quilting so we are even. You can now laugh at meš Thanks for looking
