Just a thought - Is there not software available whereby you can design your own quilt patterns? Especially one that has pre-loaded Q patterns that you can adapt to your own specifications etc??
I seem to recall something like Electric Quilt (EQ..) or something like that? I could of course be totally wrong!!
Yes, there is and patterjam.com did offer you to use theirs on the site, save your pattern to share or not with others. I made up a few simple ones. It to me was limited though bc you had to choose from already programmed sizes and shapes like half square triangle or squares. Maybe someone else here knows. Good luck!
I had a look on the Internet to see what the price is for EQ8 and nearly fell over! NOT worth it when I am not going to use it all the time!!
Oh well not an option!
I looked in both books I have right now, one is mine the other library and I don’t see the photo of the quilt you linked to. So no pattern there. I am wondering, if you use that many colors, won’t you have a bigger quilt? Unless you sew 2 in strips instead of 2 1/2. I just don’t know and am willing to admit-lol- however I will be curious to know what you end up doing and please share how you did it.
We just picked 11 gallons of figs! I started itching so had to come home and bathe. I think it was because the leaves, everything was wet from a huge rain we got last night. I wear long sleeves and pants but gosh I got miserable before we finished. I told hubby that’s enough!
My friend who was also my teacher at the time will be assisting me with this - so I have decided to put this project on hold until I have figured out OR found a pattern of a Twisted Bargello that can incorporate all my fabrics!
I will definitely keep you posted once I have made a decision!x
This is a picture of my waistcoat made when I attended a Bargello Quilt workshop at our local Bernina store.
It looks like when you formed your strip sets you put a narrower black or brown strip between each color strip. I could be wrong but you did a great job on your vest is what we call it-😉
Thanks Chris!x
Toogie - made this years ago and cannot remember BUT have asked my "teacher" who is a very close friend and will post when she has replied!x
Toogie - Received this reply from my friend : Yes, a black strip between each color and then started with offset to be in centre of previous row!
I'm not familiar with the twisted Bargello pattern. I have looked in the two books I have here of Eileen Wrights and I saw was 24 strips in Surf Song and 30 in Marmalade but it's only 45x64. Were you wanting something bed size? If so, do you think adding extra strips to continue a pattern longer from head to foot would work? I'm just wondering out loud-lol-But then you may have to widen your cuts to make it wide enough. I don't think I'd try to widen more than 1/4 inch or it may distort the pattern. I just don't know, as you can tell. Maybe someone else has done this before and will comment. I hope so. That way I can learn too!-lol-Have a great day and let me know how you come out. Would love to see your jacket. Eileen has one on in her picture in the book.-Toogie
Hi Toogie, Thanks for your response!
At first I though about a bed size quilt but then changed my mind and decided on having it as a large wall hanging - just smaller than single bed size! Thought it would be more effective to see the pattern!
Am attaching a picture of the Twisted Bargello that I found on the web & that I fell in love with! Will post a picture of my waistcoat as soon as I have taken a pic of it!xx
Not sure how to post the picture but here is the link :

I’m going to look later in the books I have. We have to go pick figs before it gets any hotter. I’ll get back to you though.
The most fantastic Bargello quilt designs are embroidery designs at Anita Goodesign. So, the quilt is created in the hoop. Several beautiful patterns, all in one set. Happy stitching.
Thank you but I am not looking for Embroidery designs done by embroidery machine! Appreciate you taking the time to reply!
* for you!
