I think I told you our Bee industry in Newcastle has been decimated by the Varroa mite and we now have no hives here at all.Soon our Almond industry is meant to be pollinated and we are looking for other pollinators.
My church has a fete coming up in October but unfortunately I won’t be in Australia as Trev and I are going to Italy, Austria and Switzerland for 6 weeks, leaving on 9th September. So I thought I’d do a few of these little note pad holders to help raise money and awareness. This is my first one.

96237I have enlarged the photo of the notepad holder and it looks like the head and the antennas are missing. The previous time that I looked at the project I didn't notice that and probably the recipient won't notice it either.

Hi Lidia, yes, the head and antennae are there in black, it's hard to see on the black background. Unfortunately, I knocked the arm and misaligned the black border around the upper wings. My mistake, I won't do that on the next ones. Love Chris

360638Beautiful. I have many plants in my yard to attract the bees. This year I'm seeing a much larger bee than the usual honey bee. It's not a bumble bee, I'm not sure what kind it is.
19439Awww, this is so cute and perfect to raise both money and awareness. I hope someone figures out a way to help your bees. I know here in the USA there have been problems too. And the general population don't realize how important bees are both for pollination, as a sweetener and in other ways too.
