As always a great quilt. I am still wondering how much sleep you are getting. Your production of quilts is amazing. Good job. BTW I love the center material you chose. Looks as if there is a secret saying hidden in it.
Did you catch my mistake when I said I snowballed the Star blocks? I used the wrong term. I treated the Star block like a square in a square. What is that called? I don’t know but I know when you snowball a block you add a smaller square at the corners, sew from one corner to the other diagonally across the smaller square then trim. This is NOT what I did. I treated my 12 inch Star block like the center of a square in a square. My red 9 3/4 in squares were cut diagonally and sewed to each straight side of Star, not trimming anything off. Thanks !
I agree, you should have a picture of each and every quilt, but I'm sure you never thought of keeping a record. i know it would be impossible for me to say which quilt is my favorite. Keep on quilting.
Karen I was trying to keep up with them by digital pictures but the mental records are getting out of hand. The QOV quilts I do take a digital picture of but no printed out ones except two. I have 8x10 of us in front of our 50th anniversary quilt and also Grayson’s daddy’s QOV. I only got the printed pictures because I received a free offer of 8x10 for each. I really need to write my ‘story’ behind the quilts and how I felt while making them.
I don’t ever want to come across like I’m prideful or bragging because I have nothing to brag about, when I try to express this. I love the challenge of figuring out a pattern and when I see it come together I am generally happy and a little surprised that I could. I want to share my ‘stories’ or ways, not to be praised for anything, but to help and encourage others that they can do it too, or that I can tell them how I did it. Am I talking too much?-lol
No way too much!!! We love seeing your quilts and the stories behind them are inspiring. I love to quilt but had never thought of snowballing a 12 1/2" but that is a great idea and adds interest-- a great addition. Thanks.
Rachap thank you for commenting. I sometimes think I’m not going to share anymore, as it seems just a few comment ( and I thank those Cuties), so people must not be interested. Please read my comment above to crafter2243 as I called making the blocks the wrong term. I didn’t snowball, I made the Star block first, then treated it like the center of a square in a square block. I don’t know if there is another name for it but I realized I used the wrong term when my sister was asking what snowball meant. I would love you to share some of your quilts. I only know of a few Cuties on here that quilt. I wish others would speak up, like you did.
Have had company and a big birthday so haven't been on the computer much but just to let you know, I knew exactly what you meant---great minds and all that!!! I am not very good at taking pictures of my quilts but will try to find a few and post them one of these days.
Outstanding, once again. I would have thought it was on point too, I am assuming that you did each side section eg square, the 3 triangle piece then the next square on two sides, then just do the triangle with two half triangles attached to complete the block, well that's how would do it. I'm sure there's another way thought,. Whatever you did, it looks amazing. Love Chris
Thanks Chris, we all have our own way of getting there but the finish is what matters. I may post steps of how I did this one for anyone interested. I’ll see. I think I liked the picture I saw because it had more reds in it. My sister Sue liked red. I miss her so much.
Always that next gorgeous quilt, Toogie. You have outdone yourself AGAIN. I hope you have a little scrapbook of your quilt photos.
I had thought of getting a paperback book printed of my quilts but I’m always making more so it would have to be series of books-lol Thank you for always being supportive of my endeavors.❤️
