Lordie Toogie, you even matched your pocket stripes to your lining stripes--well done my friend.
Beautiful bag, why, oh why do we always find something wrong with what we sew. No one would have noticed the different thread only you. LOL To me it is just perfect and if you gave it to me I would be so thrilled to receive such a lovely gift.
I decided to watch a movie yesterday so it still has the gray thread.-lol- and this morning I decided to make an even larger tote for quilts and my wool pressing mat. Thanks
Great work my friend. I've made 4 bags over the weekend, but with no wooden dowelling. Mine are just shopping bags to grocery shopping with. I love your extra 'bits' to make this such a useful bag. Love Chris
Thanks are the shopping bags for your trip? I'm so excited for you! when do you depart I forgot? Is there an itinerary so we can keep up with you?-lol Have a great time and be safe.
Hi Toogie, no these bags are for my church fete. We depart on 9th September returning on 24th October.
Once I get a copy from Trev I’ll let you know. It’s very detailed. I’ll send one to you personally. Love Chris
It looks fabulous, I would find it very handy for my knitting.
Thank you Alice, I thought of my mom and her crochet. She had an upholstery bag for her yarns, that was made on a wooden stand, that folded up so you could carry or put away. Hubby just cut another inch off my dowel handles and I think I like it better so now they are each 15 inches. It opens it up to about 6 inches for me to put stuff inside.
Great Bag love your fabric choice. I have found the web site, "Not Your Mama's Quilt Store" useful too. This is a nice size for shopping, or a purse when it is necessary take a phone, book, makeup kit, flashlight, tape measure, billfold, coin purse, pattern....and on and on.
You sound like me when my husband said it's too big for a purse, I thought 'you don't know what all we can put in a bag'.-lol-I had all items on hand. The outer fabric I bought when I was finding fabric $1. a yard before Covid and things got so high. Likewise my sister found me the Flex Firm $1. yard, the regular bolt price was $6.97 yd. The yellow fabric I think came from my aunt when she stopped sewing. The dowels we got when my husband was making the Stocking Trees. I usually can come in my sewing room and find something I can work on without going to buy since we are 30 minutes away from a Walmart and 50 min away from a JoAnns or Hobby Lobby.
WOW! What a great bag you made! Just imagine the things you can put in it! Great job! Suzanna
We gals think alike, just read Pam's post above-lol-Thanks Suzanna I am toying with the idea of starting a bigger one but I didn't want to use up all my Flex-Firm stabilizer. I might need it for another purse soon-lol
You are the Queen of Bags! At least here on Cute Embroidery.
Thank you Betsey . I am thinking I may take out my stitching around the opening to change thread color. I hope I can get it back as good if I do. I didn’t realize until I was sewing the top casing I should have changed thread.😩
What a classy bag! It may not be large enough for what you wanted, but it is a beautiful and completed project that can be used in so many ways.
Thanks, you know how I love bags and love making them. They are always useful.
