UPDATED below. Customer service is paramount, Part #17! I just returned from the worst haircut of my life which cost me $25. She was foisted upon me by the shop owner who usually cuts my hair well. This child was a beginner. She went around my head 4 complete times, then asked the owner how to get the hair to flip under, which I had requested. Then fifth time and sixth time around. She removed the cape, did not offer me a mirror to check her work, exclaimed, wow, looks great, and picked her scissors back up to get some more 5" longer hair that had "hidden" from her before. I'm done with them. I try to shop local, but honestly! The whole painful process took nearly an hour, for a simple blunt cut on long, straight, thin hair. I am ashamed to have paid for it and ashamed that my state licenses her to cut hair. Based on what?! Sorry, just needed to rant. Will probably schedule a cut correction with the shop owner in a few days when I understand where all the issues are!


Well, today the sweetheart who did the bad haircut saw me dining out at lunch and made the mistake of coming over and reminding me of who she was. Then she asked, "Are you still loving your cut?" Of course, I never said I did. Being the blunt person I can sometimes be (realist) I told her I certainly did NOT love the cut. Well, she needs to know. I won't be allowing her to come near me with scissors again! Sign me, Exasperated. Sign her, Clueless.

So sorry to read this Betsey, I've got an amazing hairdresser and she cuts my hair in about 15 mins. I don't have my hair washed as I can't stand putting my head on those basin holders, it makes my neck ache. I've been seeing for her many years.
Prices have just gone up to $40.00 Australian for a hair cut and blow dry (and a wash if you want one) Love Chris

Sounds a ghastly experience. I have short hair and whenever I have a hair cut that I am not too happy with, I just think - it will soon grow.

Oh, do you have my sympathy! I have finally found a wonderful hairdresser after going through at least 4 in 3 states. Every one of the lousy ones cut my hair so short I wanted to cry. But this one not only has done a great cut, she gave me my hair back. After surviving covid pneumonia my hair started falling out. I lost at least 50 % of my hair. She told me to take 10,000 units of biotin and a pre-natal vitamin every day. My hair is now thicker than ever. So don't give up hope.

You have my sympathy and understanding, it happened to me few weeks ago. My hair were very long and I used to braid it and pinned on top of my head. Though to have it cut, I even brought a picture to show the hairdresser how to.
$ 65 after and an horrible cut, I have to wear a hat to present myself in public !! They will regrow of course but at the present I am inconsolable. Hugs.

I had this happen a long time ago! My usual girl was busy, and they gave me someone new! Well, when I heard her call for the manager to come over, I knew it could not be good! She cut my long hair so uneven it had to be cut to the top of my shoulders to be fixed! I went through all of the emotions first I was mad than I was so upset but thank God hair grows back slowly but surely! I won't make that mistake ever again if my usual hairapist is busy I will wait or reschedule! I tip my hairapist really good now and always thank her for not messing up my hair and for being a good therapist while I am in her chair!LOL!

Oh yes, I feel your rant! I am on the hunt for a new stylist too. I would contact the owner, hopefully she can fix it.

Are you going to let the shop owner how unhappy you are with your new cut? Hope it grows out soon and that the owner can rectify whats happened Good Luck

Apparently there were two (of four present workers) who were trainees. When they did not have customers, they were shampooing and coloring on dummy heads and shop owner was checking their work. I am still burned about it.

Yes, I will let her know, but she is so mealy mouthed I won't get much satisfaction from her. She is all honey-mouthed, but no gumption.
