While finishing the DVD of The Sound of Music my granddaughter wanted to cut out this intricate butterfly on the Cricut machine so she did that and weeded out all the unnecessary parts of it. I then ironed it on my polyester shirt that night. It could have been made larger but think it turned out great. I had the floral Heat Transfer Vinyl for some time so thought the butterfly would enhance the purple of the shirt.

Thank you and yes, it keeps a newly aged 15 y/o girl wanting to craft with her granny.

Oh my! This looks so intricate. I got a Scan n Cut with my new machine. Do the designs keep sticking to the T-shirt after lots of washing or do I need to wash them on a gentle cycle. And what about the dryer? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I haven't washed anything as many times as they quote this vinyl sticking but they say at least 50 washings. Turn shirts inside out and wash in lukewarm or cool water and light dryer cycle. So far nothing has started peeling. No fabric softeners but I don 't know if that means BEFORE heat pressing or if you can us it after the fact. I just haven't used it. Do not press heat transfer vinyl to anything with nylon--it doesn't stick. Still learning the ropes.

Thanks for the additional advice! It would have taken a zillion ruined projects before I figured that all out.

Made this Saturday. My granddaughter cut it out on the Cricut Maker and did all the weeding [picking out of unnecessary parts. I had it ready to heat press on that night. Polyester shirt. Remember to those doing this--do not use nylon or anything with nylon- it will not stick.
