Hi gals, well we've had an awesome time up here in the Apennine mountains, in Polinago where we have been staying with a gracious couple from Cherry House B&B.

For the past couple of days we have been driven around by Winn and David and have had amazing meals, seen the most beautiful countryside and had so much peace and quiet, especially after the busy times in the cities we've visited.

Here are some pictures of where we've been. Having a wonderful time and can't wait to go to Bressanone for my birthday on Monday. The Dolomite ranges are one I've always wanted to see. Love Chris

1 View from our bathroom window in Poliinago
2 View from street in Polinago of Apennine ranges
3 Pavarotti's statue in Modena
4 Me at Amalfi
5 Modena Cathedral
6 Trev and me tasting 72 year old Balsamic Vinegar (Traditional) and I choked on it, as it took my breath away and I was laughing trying to catch my breath - this was last night Thursday 6th October)
7 Ducale Palace of Sassuolo - the palace was built on the site of a medieval castle or rocca. It is massive!!
8 Side view of the Palace in Sassuolo. (about a half hour outside of Modena)

What wonderful pictures! I can't imagine the joy you and Trev are experiencing! I especially like Pavarotti statue. Enjoy! Hugs and love, Suzanna. Happy Birthday to you!

I love all the pictures Chris, keep them coming! Glad you are getting some 'me' time. A stressful body needs it now and then to recoup. I want you to check out the floors in these old cathedrals or buildings. The lady that designed the Labyrinth quilt pattern got her pattern from an old church in Napels. She took a pic of the floor tiles and figured it out for a quilt pattern. Who knows, I might come up with something, if we like the flooring and can figure it out. Keep having a great time and don't worry about home. Your sister and kids can learn they don't have to depend on you for everything. Enjoy! X & O-Toogie

Hi Toogie, yes, I've been checking the floors out and they are amazing. I did some quilts over 12 years ago based on some flooring I saw in the Churches of Italy. Mosaics mostly seem to be the go. Jewls is having an interesting time with Mum, and the dog is learning new tricks!! Who says you can't teach an old dog new things!!
It's now Sunday afternoon about 5.20 as I reply to you. Hope all is well with you and your family, love Chris

We are well thank you. We went to Marsha’s ( Nae as we call her) and Richards last night. He grilled BBQ ribs and we also had birthday ice cream cake. It was Ty’s 20 birthday. He flew in to spend almost a week so he’d be home for his birthday.
We are having a couple come in for a few days with us. An army buddy of my husbands. We made him a quilt and will be presenting his, along with others, Thursday. I’m washing bedclothes and picking up the house in order for their stay. Again I say enjoy your time away and keep posting those lovely pictures! ❤️

Hi Karen, this is a wonderful time of year too to be travelling as all the trees are losing their leaves and changing colours. We are off to Saint Magdalena's tomorrow hopefully without any rain, it's been an overcast day with very light misty cloud. Hopefully tomorrow will be finer. Love Chris
