What a fantastic and useful project! I enjoyed hearing the details of this project. Yep. Denim doesn't cooperate sometimes .
Great bags, Toogie!
Funny - I'd only heard the name Farkle from way back in the 60's from "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" TV show. There was mom & dad Fanny Farkle, Fred Farkle and the twins, Simon and Gar-Farkle! Each weekly guest star would be a distant Farkle relative...
Ahhh, the things ya remember!
Now could someone tell me where the heck I put my glasses? 😂
I never heard of that game .Is it easy?
Yes, very easy once you learn how to count your points. And I think this would make excellent stocking stuffers or extra little unexpected gifts for Christmas. The dice are inexpensive and you can make the bag. All you need is paper and pencil to keep score. How easy is that? Now, what are you waiting for!
These are excellent. We play Farkle. I made tubes for the dice, and can't seem to find them, so maybe I need to make a bag instead,
I think we are hooked on the game- lol
I was keeping dice in an empty medicine bottle, but our little Gus likes to walk around shaking it up so much it drives you crazy after awhile. I thought a bag would be quieter and it is.
Great bags...I will have to check out how to play Farkle!
It’s fun and I must warn if your hubby likes it, you may not get to sew as much. He will want you to play-lol
I finally found something he might play when it’s just the two of us during power outages ( hurricanes, ice storms). When I would suggest rummy or card game he didn’t want to play just us two, but right now he likes Farkle.
Great job, but I do not know of Farkle....LOL
We had a game we used to play with dominoes called Chicken Foot, but don't even know if I remember how to play that now. LOL
Google Farkle game, believe to be named after inventor. My sister calls it Sparkle, she says it’s sounds better-lol
My hubby always liked to play dominoes and monopoly, which I didn’t because it goes on forever. I have things to do-lol
Well done, congratulation on your creations. Never heard of game, guess will have to google. ;-)
Those dice have been stored a while, since 2013, from Jen's Originals Embroidery Designs! She is always good for quirky designs.
Thank you for the info so I can add it to my design. I know I've been machine embroidering for about 16-17 years.
18 years here, and many of the earlier designs are beautiful, even though digitized with previous software with fewer tools to make it easier to do. I keep my favored format in folders by designer, in "Designs" and all the supporting documents by designer in a separate folder "Support" so I always know the copyright usage allowed for any particular design. I keep a spreadsheet which has proven invaluable for recording websites and tracking changes in ownership--I am over a quarter million designs of purchased/freebies, but I am unsuccessful in telling myself enough!
lol-and I thought I was bad to collect so many!-lol
I did go back and find her original dice design and re-downloaded because I deleted by accident the original design when I resized it. You never know when one might need the bigger size. Thanks again
Toogie, the zippy bags look wonderful and I like the rounded corners on the denims. I just love games that work well across the age range and skills range, which provide a way for each to feel included.
I used to not download free designs unless I knew I would use them, then I realized it was like having a library of designs that I would not have to purchase. Well, you looked into your library and found just the thing you needed.
We are finallu getting some cooler nights. I'm about ninety-degreed out for the year.
Yes, we are getting cooler nights. It does help one sleep better when not so hot, but you know me, not too cold either-lol Thanks about the bags and yes you're right about the game. Gus didn't mind, he got the TV to himself-lol
Nice job on the Farkle bags! I did search for free dice design but did not find a freebie. I bet I have on in my old files too.
You probably do, as it was a free design, almost 4 inches. I reduced it to 1.5 and that's a lot, but it didn't distort. I really am glad Cutie powagrl suggested I may have a dice in my old designs. I don't often look at those. Thanks!
I'd say all of that extra work has been well worth the time and effort. The bags look great. I hope there will be many more un times playing Farkle. It is such an interesting word!
I read the Farkle, was the last name of the guy, that invented the game w-a-y back when. I was curious too about the name. Thanks
I have not heard of this game, but I'm sure it is fun. Love the bags.
When our friends told us about it on the phone, I googled it, even though they said they'd teach us when they came. My family loves games and so does our Spain girl, so every time they come we end up playing some kind of game, before they leave. Thanks about the bags.
Great bags and thanks for the info on sewing out. I know I am sitting on many designs I have forgotten about. Now to enjoy using the bags and playing Farkle
I didn't even remember saving this design, it's been so long, so you are right. I saw some earlier designs I really need to delete, not so good but I saved everything when I first started . Thanks for looking.
toogie I think that all free designs are downloaded when we start machine embroidery. I have been deleting some of mine recently
Nice work, Toogie. I have never heard of Farkle, but I love those bags!
Thanks M, I hadn't heard of the game either until our house guest that just came told us about it. I thought it might be hard to catch on but even Nora at 9 years old played. I guess as many as want to can play but there were 10 of us at my table the other night.
