These are wonderful and it is so great to see the group of beneficiaries and their families.
Yes, we had a great turn out. All veterans came and most had family or friends with them. It's so disappointing for us when a vet doesn't show up to receive his quilt. We had nine to give (see picture below) at the presentation on the 13th. One of mine didn't show, for the third time and 2 of Emily's and one of RoAnn's so 4 quilts out of 9 weren't awarded that day. I'm glad these 5 men made it and were touched by the ceremony.
You are an awesome group and so talented. Our vets deserve to be the beneficiaries or your loving work
I'm very fond of the group members and their generosity, not only to the vets, but to each other. Someone is always sharing a stash from a loved one of fabrics, rulers etc for all of us to re-home. When something is left on a table, they say give it to me, because they think I'll figure out what to make with it-lol
I've not been up to commenting too much lately, but I've enjoyed everyone's pictures. Well done Toogie! Great quilts, lovely photos, very fine people.
I am glad to see you post or comment. Hope you feel up to more soon. Take care-Toogie
Your generosity is so much appreciated. I love the pictures. You are blessed!
I'm so glad you share the quilts and then the folks who receive them. it is so special to see the smiles on their faces. It had to be especially nice to see 2 family members receive theirs. Thanks for the countless hours you spend making these special quilts.
I made all five of the quilts, in the picture I added directly above your comment, but I love doing this. This is nothing compared to the time and sacrifice these men and women have put in. It’s the least I can do, plus I have fun!-lol
Hi Toogie, they are all beautiful and no doubt tears were shed. You are so generous with your time doing these. Great work, love Chris
And the winner is ... everybody! What a wonderful time.
Lovely, lovely, lovely!!! Such a wonderful thing to do for veterans! Well done, Toogie!! Hugs!
Someone gave me money said to go eat out with my husband. I told him no, I don’t do it for money. I do it because I appreciate the veterans and told him if he still wanted to give I’d pass it on to our leader that handles the finances/books. He gave and I passed it on right then. In the speech it states we are able to make the quilts because of donations of money, fabrics and of course our time. Thank
Always love these occasions that you share with us
