Wow Awesome work done!!!
Thank you! It was a little beyond my comfort level though. Luckily the lady who long armed it made it so much better by her sweet pattern she recommended.
Stunning work on all of these items. Love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
Oh all these are just lovely! The embroidery looks great on all the projects, however I’m in love with the sashing setting on 2 sides of each blocks. At least it looks like two edges and then set it makes a pinwheel I’ve never seen before. I love it! I have always loved pinwheels and whirligigs so I know I’ll be making this for one of my charity quilts. Thank you for sharing and giving us new ideas. I’m so glad you’re back on Cute, too!
Thank you Toogie, I hadn't seen the rest of the comments, working on a pillow project. I got the pattern from Maple island quilts, it's BQ5, not sure if I said that. Use non directional prints for the frame as these blocks rotate. I ended up fussy cutting each block at a time on the frame and was frustrated. If you google images of BQ5 maple island then you will see lots of different quilts people have made. There are other patterns there too of course that are different.
Beautiful work. I love the quilt. You did a great job.
Before I made this quilt I had gotten two colors of the main fabric and finally decided on the navy one, and ended up using the light colored fox one on her brother's pillow case. Hubby actually liked my moose design, so hope to get him a pillowcase made too, he isn't big on any kind of embroidery, he won't wear any logos and his tee shirts have to be plain as possible.
I am adding a couple of photos, from what was said it couldn't be seen,so resizing a couple. I made the moose pillowcase for Piper's 3 year old brother, and the toddler sized to go with the quilt. Thank you all!
Great work. Love that you have a Bernina and still using it. I have had mine for almost 50 years and I’m still using it too
You have been a very busy bee this past summer. Well done and enjoy the many smiles when your hard work is recieved.
Thank you for sharing, my you have been very busy. I love the way the quilt is put together. Have not seen that before. Congratulation on all you have accomplished
Thank you! The pattern is called the BQ5 by maple island quilts. It was hard using the directional fabrics for the framing, she advised me against it but finally finished, I had machine issues too on the blocks which didn't help.
You did absolutely fabulous on the dark directional fabrics. To be honest I don’t think most non quilters would have noticed because of the small print and quilts are looked on in different angles.
From what I can see from the thumbnails on the main Project post, these look great...unfortunately no photos here....😔
I've noticed some that have no photo, they will show up when I click on them. Not sure why that happens. I resized them to be able to upload, I'll take another size of a couple of photos and add in comments and see if that helps. I've never done a quilt so complicated, it became more of a chore. lol
I know the feeling about it feeling like a chore. You described the one I’m working off and on for my daughter. I was never so glad to be finished with a Queen top and then found out AFTRR the borders were on, she needs a King. If and when I do actually finish I think I’ll treat myself to a vacation-lol
Sometimes clicking on the photo icon works to show the picture....and unfortunately, sometimes it does not...
