I have a suggestion for you. I make something like this, but they are just plain rectangles. I fill them with flax seed and stitch them closed. Then the recipient can pop them in the microwave for a few minutes (or the freezer) and have a hot pack that lasts for hours, or a cold pack that conforms to the spot that needs cold. They work over and over again, as long as you don't microwave them long enough to burn the seeds.
I made some small ones for myself (and LOTS for friends and family). I microwave them and put them under the covers at the foot of my bed and they will stay warm for several hours. You just have to be mindful to not heat them too hot, so they burn you. Then there are no leaks from water either! I hope that this makes sense, because the flax bags are so incredibly useful, and safe for those who shouldn't have long exposure to heating pads, etc.
Rice works too, but not quite as well as flax, since flax is an oily seed.
Dear thanks for your idea. My contribution is to show that ITH does not always work and others do not make the same mistake as me.
I also have grain pads on ice for all cases.
Merry Christmas.
Thank you for the suggestion of flax seed. I have heard of the rice and corn. Corn can end up molding. How long do you heat the flax pads you make? Guessing it depends on size?
What are spelt pillows filled with? As can be deduced from the name, spelt pillows are filled with spelt chaff. Spelt chaff is the husk of a spelt grain and a suitable material for pillows. Why is spelt chaff a good pillow filling? Spelt chaff the property that it ideally adapts to the individual positioning of the head and spine. Secondly, the spelt pillow absorbs the body heat and slowly releases it. The spelt husk is very breathable. So you can use your spelt pillow warm and cold! Spelt pillows are usually filled with spelt husk and this can not only absorb and store heat, but also cold. For heat treatment, place the pillow in the oven at 100°C or in the microwave for 1.5 - 2 minutes at 600 - 800 watts.
For cold treatment, place the pillow in a plastic bag in the freezer and cool thoroughly.
Rape seed pillow serves as a heat or cold compress. It adapts to the contours of the body and has a soothing effect. For heat treatment, place the pillow in the oven at 100C° or in the microwave for 1.5-2 minutes at 600-800 watts. For cold treatment, place the pillow in a plastic bag in the freezer and cool through.
I agree with Toogie....is it possible to unstitch the bottom and add fabric?
We aren’t talking of an opening to turn. We mean taking out the bottom seam all the way across and then sewing another piece of fabric, like you added the blue to make it longer with your regular sewing machine. I know the language difference may make it hard to understand each other’s meaning sometimes.
I have left extra 10 cm more fabric at the bottom to sew it differently, but since it is also missing in the width, this does not work. I would have had to embroider it only but not ITH sew together but sew everything separately with the sewing machine. Please excuse my bad english.
I’m understanding you now and no need to apologize. I think you are explaining well. It’s such a pretty floral design, I would hate to waste it. The colors are so pretty on the blue fabric.
Can you in sew the bottom seam and add more fabric to length? The flowers are beautiful, I’d hate to waste them
I have it anyway already embroidered twenty percent larger, in the width missing three cm and in the length 8 cm, simply much too small . .
