At the moment my resolutions are knitting related. After I knitted the polar bear sweater for my granddaughter my daughter decided she wanted one too. And now, staying with her in Norway, Esther and I went to a wool shop and she bought 17(!) balls of lovely yarn in 5 colours. As it was the 30th I can start this year with a clear track record for the time being. Don't ask me in March....
And she donated me a sail and some old jeans, so I can sew a lot of useful bags. I might, just might, resist (window)shopping in fabric shops for a while.
And if I would be unable to resist temptation those bags might provide storage space for knitting yarn or fabric.
Yeah, that fabric resolution isn't working for me. I've also quit resolving to sleep more, eat better and guard my acid tongue. Happy New Year to all anyway, from the Local Realist.
Oh I have had a great laugh reading your reply. Happy New Year to you as well
I know the feeling well asterixsew. I used to pass by a used bookstore when doing errands for work. It became more difficult to ignore during good weather days when they placed books outside on a cart with an additional discount.
Today I took a craft book that I have had for years,( my daughter had it for a while and returned it as well) to a local charity shop. My husband then bought two books. So much for me trying to get rid of surplus stuff
Warning. Ideas like this will lead to terrible withdrawal symptoms πππ
This year I want to reorganize and downsize y sewing room and supplies. I have done pretty well with using fabric I already have for projects and not buying more (except remnants which I am addicted to!). Keeping fingers crossed to see how long this will last! Hugs, Nan
I couldn't help but chuckle reading your great intentions. I take it you already have a project in mind to use it. I hope the price was good and you have it added to your stash.
Well as yet even after a visit to Fabrics ... I didnt buy. At almost $50 a metre its still there. I had no ideas at all for the fabric it was just pretty jewel colours and I (still) love it
