Oh my! This is so beautiful. I'm so happy that work must have been going on behind the scenes for us to finally see photo's up close. I think you chose well. You may have seen black where you are seeing white. Black just sets off the stain glass effect as well as some other colors. Love it.
Wow, Chris, your stained glass blocks are gorgeous! This is the first time I have been able to see photos on posts since October and these were well worth the wait!
Hi Kim. Thanks so much for your kind comments. It’s turned out really well, but in hindsight I wished I’d used black background fabric to stitch the designs onto, as in some places I can see white underneath. It still looks good though!! Love Chris
Excellant Job done well!!!Stunning love it!!!
Wowzer......beautiful job, Chris!
Thanks Vicki, I finished it now, but I want to put a insert on the back to put a dowel inside it. Love Chris
One (or at least me) doesn't realize how the black border makes the blocks pop out. Absolutely love your color choices and the results. Thank you for sharing your progress. Your church will love it.
Great work Chris, I like everything about it! Surely will be appreciated and treasured by the the Congregation. Hugs Roberta
Hi Roberta, thanks for commenting. I hope it will be appreciated by my fellow parishioners. Love Chris
Love the final result. I am sure you will find the perfect material for the backing.
Hi Angie, I'm hoping to find a nice black self embossed print of some kind. I'll have a look at Spotlight next week. Love Chris
Chris, This is such a wonderful set of designs! I really love how they turned out for you. Lots of thread and hours. Great work! Tonya
Thanks Tonya, yes, there are a lot of threads in this one. I'm pleased with most of them. There were a couple where the stitches were wonky and I think it was due to a top thread not being tight enough with the tension. I managed to fix it in the last two squares!!!!! Love Chris
This is very Beautiful!! It will a very generous donation.
Beautiful! This will be stunning when finished and hung in your church.
Hi Karen, thanks I hope it will complement the area where I made a long banner years ago in the children's section at the rear of the church. Love Chris
and another... looking good. Chris there must be quite a few hours of sewing time in this super piece of work
Hi Caroline, yes, there's quite a few hours in the stitching of these squares. Not to mention some unpicking, a few choice words and a couple of broken needles!!!! Love Chris
Looking good!
Thanks Mary, I'll wait till I get back home to go to Spotlight to find some backing fabric. Love Chris
Beautiful!
Thanks so much and if I haven't welcomed you to Cute, welcome, love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
