Another update on my daughter, Robin. I met with her, my granddaughter and her 2 girls for Sunday lunch. As we were talking in Robin's car she mentioned double mastectomy---I said whoa, what---'you only told me left breast'. She said no, she told me double---no she did not! I'm go glad she did it. She explained the other cells seen in tissue were in one other node and also towards ctr. of her chest so she had double mastectomy. Both breasts are having reconstruction. Not sure yet if any radiation but is on one chemo pill and will begin another in about a month. She can't take the one lots of women get put on due to her Factor V Lieden which is an inherited blood clotting disease plus she also has an auto immune disease in her lung. All these problems presented themselves at age around 50! So far my son is not diagnosed with any of this stuff although he had his fair share of twice Covid, RSV, since summer. He's finally over the hump of all that.

Wow! Patti no wonder that was a surprise for you. Robin may have thought she had told you and I pray that she is now on the road to full recovery. I didn't know about BII that Kim has referred to, but I hope all the pros and cons have been given to Robin so she can make an informed decision. Great news about your son too, I'll keep them in my prayers. Love Chris

It sounds like Robin is on top of this and taking the steps she needs to take. And glad to hear your son is well on the way to healing too. Keep giving us updates please. And prayers continue.

Well, that is quite the surprise....honestly, it is the best solution considering her diagnosis, in my opinion...now if she would just forgo the reconstruction which comes with another host of very serious problems, including Breast Implant Illness (BII) which can really complicate her already issues with her immune system and blood clotting problems....as they say, you can lead a horse to water, but.....and you know the rest. Hoping for the best for all of you...

Didn't want to bombard you with more info and pretty sure you'd see this post. I was so surprised she told me this. She thought she had. Nope, I did not know. I wished she'd forego this reconstruction also. Now to ask the Oncologist to answer the question of radiation or not. She was told now that the Oncologist would decide this. She didn't care for the radiation Dr. she saw. So many opinions going on with her and different Dr's. She is on one chemo pilll and will start another regulated pill in about a month....I don't understand the wait but not for me to understand I guess. She works from home on a computer so she is back to work.

I'm so glad, too, that she has removed the future worries of cancer on the other side of her body! Mothers worry in a different way! You are getting your medical education a bit late in life. I'm hoping the positive steps your daughter is taking will enable to put these problems far behind her.
