Hello Cuties! Since I haven’t posted much lately I thought I’d tell you what’s been happening.

Hubby and I have been stuffing Easter eggs for an annual drive my daughter does. We are finally through and the ‘Easter Bunny’ delivers them all tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, Ashley’s family have been as busy as ever so that means we are included in some of the goings. Gus is playing pitch ball this year as her is too old now for tee ball.
Nora delivered her presentation of Eleanore of Aquitaine. She had a long speech and really put expressions of excitement and pride delivering it-lol so we went to that.
Then she had Regional Bible Drills and I went with the group too. Ashley has chauffeurs license so she drove the church bus to the hosting church an hour 30 minutes away. Here are the children of ours, in this age group, that are now going to State finals!
Now about our little spaniard Eva.-lol Eva had senior prom and was able to fit into one of Lanie’s gowns she had, although it was a little long. Her escort is a very nice young man raised in Ashley’s church, Issac. Needless to say Eva was worn out at the end of the night.
Also Eva accepted Christ and was baptized! Although I was rejoicing she made this decision of faith, I was concerned about how her parents would feel, but her mom expressed great joy that Eva has been so happy here and attending church regularly.
Thursday Kinley had her birthday party at the Fun Zone about 30 min away we went to. ( We missed Dalton’s boys birthday because we both were sick)
Rylan has been playing ball and hitting home runs but he’s still hitting off the tee. I think he moves up next year.
Ty moved back from Seattle Washington and now Lanie’s there by herself working long hours. Since he quit and moved back home it left them short handed at work. Now her boss doesn’t want to let her take off for our trip.
My back is better but I don’t know how I’ll feel once we drive 13-14 hours. We leave tomorrow during the night. The guys like to drive at night, less traffic, but check in is 4 pm so we will leave here about 3 am.
Hubby and I plan to cook the day after we arrive. We will keep Avery at the house with us, so others can do zip lines and horseback riding, things she can’t do with them. The next night the guys are grilling and the girls will cook the sides. We plan on eating out a couple nights but wanted to get together at night and spend time with each other. During the day everybody plans to go their own way.
I will try to get some pictures but it will probably be just us at the house. Hubby and I don’t really have any special place we want to see or go and with both of us with back problems, we may just be content to stay and keep Avery, so they can go wherever they want to. This will be my fourth time there, so I’m ok not to run around especially with this backache. I just love the fellowship of family together.
I spoke with the agent yesterday and she said the bears like to come around, so we should see them. They are black bear. We have see some before on our trips but at a safe distance. Her name is Amber and she told me she lives there. She said when she gets home bears will sometimes be in her driveway. She said she has to get her toddler out of the car seat to go inside. I asked what about the bear? She said usually she revs up the car engine and that’s enough to scare them off. She said don’t leave any food or wrappers in the cars and lock the doors bc bear have gotten in people’s cars. She said if you leave them alone they should leave you alone. She also said to cover the hot tubs when not ion use because Cubs will climb up and play in the water. I asked what if you’re in the hot tub and one climbs up? She said they really don’t come if you’re making loud sounds or noises.
I know the guys are anxious to see the wildlife but I like them at a safe distance. Amber also said the black bear aren’t meat eaters like the grizzly. She said they want sweets and are vegetarian, kinda sounds like me-lol - but seriously I have heard of a few instances where they have attacked. I think if they feel threatened, by you coming too close or you come between them and their Cubs, it would be dangerous.
Avery stayed with us a few hours the other night so I will also include her picture. I hate when they are sideways 🙄
Well wish us safely in travels and while there. Hope you are all well ❤️Toogie

Also Ashley was guest speaker at the Rotary Club.

It's so good to hear all that has been going on. I can now see why you haven't been posting. Lots of wonderful news of all of the grands. I especially loved the news of Eva accepting Christ, being baptized and going to the prom. Have a wonderful safe vacation with the family. And enjoy your special time with Avery. She looks so pretty in her picture.

As you well know it’s not easy getting a good picture of our girl. She would not lift her head, nor look my way. Everyone is looking forward of being altogether in one house. Marsha told Dalton to get Eva to ride with him and his boys, so she can help give the little ones a cup or entertain them on the long ride. Dalton said, “ No way! She don’t shut up!” -lol Eva is talkative anyway and loves to joke but she’s been more so since the time for our trip is here. It makes me happy I did choose this time so she could go with us and experience how big the USA really is. Her birthday is May 1st and after graduation in May she will be returning to Spain. I keep telling her I’m going back with her and she then tells me I can stay with her grandma and eat broccoli-evidently she cooks broccoli a lot-lol She has pleaded with her parents to let her return and go to ‘university’ college here. Her mom was more reluctant to agree but finally did. So Ashley has been taking her to different colleges and checking on grants and scholarships. Eva makes good grades and when she took the ACT she didn’t think her score was that great but we told her yes it was! She found out at school what others made and there may have been one that scored better than her but she realized then just how good she did score. She is very good in Math. She may get that from her dad as he is an accountant for L’oreal. Ashley said though once Eva gets home she may decide not to come back, so we will see. I know the other day Grayson had to go pick her up from school because she was crying inconsolably. When she got here she latched onto me and cried. I told her I know she HAS to be lonesome for her family, although when we ask, she says no. I told her it’s ok to admit she misses them. I told her when I went to Germany, the first few weeks I cried and cried missing my family that I knew I wouldn’t see again for over a year. I told her Pa paw got enough of that one day and said he was sending me home. I told her I immediately dried up- lol This made her laugh and she too quit crying.
Ashley said when Eva cries, tears well up in her eyes so full before they spill over. She is a very lovable girl and her mom thanks Ashley and family all the time for being so good to her girl.

Hi Toogie, I loved all the photos and wow! what a busy time you have had. I pray your holiday travelling time is not too bad for both your backs. Nowadays, we stop every couple of hours and the NRMA suggest that anyway (our roadside and maritime associations). Enjoy your family break together. Love Chris

Our car is very good on gas mileage, but I know the others will be stopping for fuel. We will have to stop for meals so the hours will be filled with breaks to move around. I know it was a long read but wanted to catch you up on the family and Eva. We sure will miss her and are so thankful she loves us too.

Hubby has said from the beginning he’s staying at the house. Now that my back is acting up I’m thinking I agree. The kids don’t want us to stay, but we’ve been there before and it would help Ashley’s family if they didn’t have to wheel Avery everywhere, stop to tube feel her and find a place to change her. I told hubby there is supposed to be a fabric shop there that I may want to go to-lol

I know you always enjoy my post, but this was a long one. We leave during the night so I need to finish my packing. We plan on cooking so I am bringing at least 2 of my really large pots. They supposed to have pots but Marsha said they usually aren’t that big or they’re cheap pots. I’m making a big gumbo in my pot but their pots I should be able to use for potato salad. The kids have a photo shoot for all of us, with a photographer planned for Tuesday, so hot gumbo will be good to warm us up afterwards. This was their gift to us at Christmas time.
