It's so good to hear all that has been going on. I can now see why you haven't been posting. Lots of wonderful news of all of the grands. I especially loved the news of Eva accepting Christ, being baptized and going to the prom. Have a wonderful safe vacation with the family. And enjoy your special time with Avery. She looks so pretty in her picture.
As you well know it’s not easy getting a good picture of our girl. She would not lift her head, nor look my way. Everyone is looking forward of being altogether in one house. Marsha told Dalton to get Eva to ride with him and his boys, so she can help give the little ones a cup or entertain them on the long ride. Dalton said, “ No way! She don’t shut up!” -lol Eva is talkative anyway and loves to joke but she’s been more so since the time for our trip is here. It makes me happy I did choose this time so she could go with us and experience how big the USA really is. Her birthday is May 1st and after graduation in May she will be returning to Spain. I keep telling her I’m going back with her and she then tells me I can stay with her grandma and eat broccoli-evidently she cooks broccoli a lot-lol She has pleaded with her parents to let her return and go to ‘university’ college here. Her mom was more reluctant to agree but finally did. So Ashley has been taking her to different colleges and checking on grants and scholarships. Eva makes good grades and when she took the ACT she didn’t think her score was that great but we told her yes it was! She found out at school what others made and there may have been one that scored better than her but she realized then just how good she did score. She is very good in Math. She may get that from her dad as he is an accountant for L’oreal. Ashley said though once Eva gets home she may decide not to come back, so we will see. I know the other day Grayson had to go pick her up from school because she was crying inconsolably. When she got here she latched onto me and cried. I told her I know she HAS to be lonesome for her family, although when we ask, she says no. I told her it’s ok to admit she misses them. I told her when I went to Germany, the first few weeks I cried and cried missing my family that I knew I wouldn’t see again for over a year. I told her Pa paw got enough of that one day and said he was sending me home. I told her I immediately dried up- lol This made her laugh and she too quit crying.
Ashley said when Eva cries, tears well up in her eyes so full before they spill over. She is a very lovable girl and her mom thanks Ashley and family all the time for being so good to her girl.
Hi Toogie, I loved all the photos and wow! what a busy time you have had. I pray your holiday travelling time is not too bad for both your backs. Nowadays, we stop every couple of hours and the NRMA suggest that anyway (our roadside and maritime associations). Enjoy your family break together. Love Chris
Our car is very good on gas mileage, but I know the others will be stopping for fuel. We will have to stop for meals so the hours will be filled with breaks to move around. I know it was a long read but wanted to catch you up on the family and Eva. We sure will miss her and are so thankful she loves us too.
Wow! You certainly have been busy! I enjoyed reading your post. Great pictures and congratulations to all for their accomplishments. Sounds like the vacation will be so much fun along with relaxing time. Enjoy and Happy Easter!
Hubby has said from the beginning he’s staying at the house. Now that my back is acting up I’m thinking I agree. The kids don’t want us to stay, but we’ve been there before and it would help Ashley’s family if they didn’t have to wheel Avery everywhere, stop to tube feel her and find a place to change her. I told hubby there is supposed to be a fabric shop there that I may want to go to-lol
Oh Toogie what a busy time you have been having and a treat for us with your family photos. Sounds like you are as usual one busy woman. Keep having fun
I know you always enjoy my post, but this was a long one. We leave during the night so I need to finish my packing. We plan on cooking so I am bringing at least 2 of my really large pots. They supposed to have pots but Marsha said they usually aren’t that big or they’re cheap pots. I’m making a big gumbo in my pot but their pots I should be able to use for potato salad. The kids have a photo shoot for all of us, with a photographer planned for Tuesday, so hot gumbo will be good to warm us up afterwards. This was their gift to us at Christmas time.
