Chris, I am so sorry your mom is in such a hard place to be now. And, so glad the little white doggie is giving her some comfort. Many hugs to you and for her.
Love and prayers for you and mom. Love that fidget blanket. We made them for our nursing homes in our sewing club. My son took a stuffed dog to my husband's brother in law before he passed down to Florida and all he said was 'I can't walk him, he has no leash'.
Sorry to hear yout mum has had more falls. She should be better now her medication has been changed. Love little Miss Lily 11. Also love your fiddle quilt. She is sure to be able to fill in lots of time with it. Please take care of yourself as well. Hugs
Hi Shirley, I know it's just horrible every time I get a call from Opal, I think, oh! no, what's happened this time.
The dog is just gorgeous and now she is a bit more alert I hope that she will react with closer attention to her and the fidget mat. I'm looking after myself as best as I can. Love Chris
Sorry your Mum has had so many falls. I was wondering if it was medication causing her to fall. Sandy was on Haldol and it also affected the limbs, she too is off the medication after the doc and I went round and round! I know it is sad watching our loved ones with dementia. We too need to be strong and do things for them that makes them happy. I can visualize your Mum and her new companion. Hopefully she will spend lots of time working the many items you created within the quilt. Thanks for letting us know you are recovering well and ready for the next step, Love and hugs, Suzanna
Thanks Suzanna, you were right the pain medications were too strong for an 89 year old woman. She was looking much better once I did her hair and brought her out into the dining room. She's still not eating much, and has lost more weight. That in itself worries me. She doesn't quite understand how I've been, so I try not to worry her too much. I am feeling great, so that is a blessing. Love Chris
As usual, you are always so busy - even after surgery, you are amazing!! The fidget quilt was a great idea and it is very pretty! And she must just love the little dog. I hope she doesn't have any more falls. Let us know how your Mum is doing! Hugs, Laura
Thanks Laura, you can't keep a good woman down, so they say. I am glad that the boys have gone, the two younger ones 9 and 8 are always on the go!!!! The 13 year old is on his device!!! We are hoping Mum doesn't have any more falls either. I'm glad she's only on Panadol now for pain relief. Love Chris
The dog is adorable, and I know it will be very comforting for your mum. She is fortunate to have you so close by, that you can visit often. The fidget blanket is wonderful. You’ve added lots of textures to hold her attention and keep fingers busy. Well done, Tu.
Thanks Tu, yes, it's a fun quilt and yes, the dog is a real cutie. I'm lucky as the Nursing Home is only a about a 6-8 min drive from my place. Love Chris
I'm sure your mum will get lots of pleasure with this cutie pie pup! The fiddle quilt is a great idea as well to keep her busy and occupied. Glad you are feeling strong after your surgery...do take it a bit easy though, as you too need some recovery time... Hugs and blessings to all of you!
Hi Kim, yes, Mum is loving the dog and fidget mat and yes, everyone is telling me to take time to recover!!! I don't have a say sometimes as it's school holidays here and we've had the boys here again today and tonight we've got Amy's 2 girls and Miss Maisie (the dog) having a sleep over.. So guess what - Pizza for dinner!!! Love Chris
How thoughtful of Jewels to send her this pretty little dog. In her thoughts now, she make think it's the real thing. Her fidget quilt was a great idea too and may help keep her still, so she doesn't take any more tumbles. So happy everything went well with the surgery and hope to hear he got a good margin, this time.
Thanks Toogie, yes, we are lucky to have these things to give to Mum and she does think that Miss Lily Rose (toy) is like her real dog. At least her colour has returned and the bruising around her broken arm is fading. I'm taking her out tomorrow to have a doctor's appt and get her nails done. Love Chris
I'm so sorry to hear she has fallen again. Your mum has certainly had a tough time. I'm glad they have discovered the problem and have put her on a safer medicine. I love the thought of her having Miss Lily II. I enlarged the picture of the quilt. Wow! I know that your mum is going to love the quilt with each block having something to play and explore. Hopefully, the new medicine, the toy and the quilt will give her many safe hours of walking and sitting without agitation. I think you and Jewls are an amazing team. And glad to see you doing so well too.
Thanks Karen, yes the little dog is gorgeous and feels so real. Mum looked better today, although I had to wash her hair and blow dry it as they don't do her hair like she likes it!!! I'm so happy to be doing so well too. Love Chris
Hi Chris. Love your fiddle quilt and I am sure that your mum will and find it gives her comfort. What a lovely idea from your sister to send a Miss Lily Rose substitute. So sorry to hear that your mum is having the setbacks that she has had. Take care
Hi Caroline, yes, she plays with the quilt, but wants Lily, which I don't blame her as she loved that little dog. Jewls is looking after her really well. Thanks for you concern, love Chris
