Hi Cuties! I just had to post this about my husband’s aunt. Remember when I told you she called me when she turned 100 and said she gave up her driving license because she didn’t feel safe driving anymore!😳lol

Also remember I told you hubby’s mom lived till age 96. Well his oldest brother still lives in his home by himself and just turned 95 in March. His oldest sister will be 97 in July but needs help walking, although her mind is good her body is failing.
Aunt Versie is now 105! She counts her Happy Birthday callers each year. When I called her yesterday morning I was number 20 something. When my oldest grandson called her she told him she was having trouble with her hearing and walking. I forgot to ask Caleb what number he was. He loves talking to her because she has lots of stories and always joking. Caleb asked me how old she was this year and said she doesn’t look that old. 😂 I told him she was born April 21,1918- He asked what did she do to live so long? I told him she danced and laughed a lot. She has outlived 2 husbands and 2 children, all of her 10 sisters and brothers ( my father in law included) and all but 3 of her 13 half siblings. Yes my hubs grandfather had 24 children! First wife had 11 children and second wife 13! Clothed , fed and raised all 24 with no government help that would be available today. Aunt Versie is from strong stock-lol

Oh, my. She looks better than some of my sewing ladies in club. Even thought those old folks stayed busy farming and long hard hours of labor they had a very playful night time it seems, lol. Congrats to her and tell her she is a beautiful woman!

Thank you, I will tell her. She is very self disciplined when it comes to her weight. She eats a good breakfast and skips lunch, but she eats supper early and doesn’t snack. I wish I had her will power.
I understand what you say about hard work and night life. I’ve heard stories of my father-in-law walking miles to work and back home during the week. Then they would get together at someone’s house and play music on Saturday night, either walking home or going in a horse drawn wagon if the family was with him. He played the fiddle and I guess that’s where Aunt Versie learned to dance. I think what’s kept her going is her dancing, her joking and laughing.

Loved ready about the family longevity. Remarkable. My Great-grandmother on my mother's side lived to be 97. My daddy was 96-1//2, and my mother lived to within 12 days of her 97th birthday. Unfortunately, all of my older sisters and brother died in their late 70's or 80's. Hubby's grandma lived to be 100, but nearly all of her children died in their 80's.

Hopefully you have many more years with all of them.

Thank you and I hope you live in good health and a long life like your parents.
My father in law was Aunt Versie’s brother. He died at 87 years old. However, my mother-in- law was 96, so my husband gets it from both sides.
My parents both died in their eighties and my sister was just 70.

There is surely is some longevity in those genes. Her hair is still dark, too! That's incredible. Happy birthday!

Yes, we all are dumbfounded by her memory. She is our link to past members so if we want to know we better ask now. She says lately that SHE is ready because she’s so old, but she also says she guess the good LORD’S not ready for her. She loves her family and never hangs up a call until she has told you.
