So sad to hear this Chris...what a lovely photo of the two of you...sending love and healing prayers.
Hi Kim, this was when Mum was in hospital. I've put up a post later than this. Check out my name and you'll see the post from this week. Love Chris
She has such a great smile, I can see where you get yours
You look like your mom! Praying her continuous strength and healing!!!
Hi Chris, I've been thinking about both of you lately, sorry to hear about Mum's broken hip. I hope she's is not in too much pain, take care of yourself too. You are both looking really good.
Hi Mary, thanks it's been a rough time these past few months. Mum is in a wheelchair and moves up and down the corridors with her feet. She is standing up with help from the nurses, the Physio told me today that she will be up and walking well by the end of next week - we hope. She is a fighter! We put her little stuffed dog "Miss Lily
in her walker and she loves to take her for a walk. Love Chris
So sorry to hear Chris. While taking care of your mum, please do remember to take care of yourself too.
So good to hear from you. I’m glad Ben and Mia visit too. I really am sorry your mom broke her hip and so sad she doesn’t understand. I was told a lady went to see her mom this week that has Alzheimer’s. Her mom was so ‘out of it’ that the lady left crying. It’s hard for people to see their loved ones so confused. It’s so good to see you laugh, even though we don’t hear you.-lol- it’s such a good way to release tension. Best wishes to you and your family always. ❤️Toogie
Hi Toogie, yes, it was good to laugh and being in that room with the 3 old men, there were some funny comments!!! Mum can be a little bit "in your face" if you know what I mean and can speak out her thoughts loudly!!!! he he he, love Chris
Oh dear Chris, Sorry about what happened to your Mum. Hopefully she is in no pain. As you know I have gone through similar things with my sister. I visit her 2 or 3 times a week. My heart goes out to you and your family as you deal with this awful disease. Mum and you look beautiful! Sending hugs and love, Suzanna
Hi Suzanna, yes, I think of you often with your situation too. Life can be cruel, but I just know that God is looking after us and keeping us in His grace. Love Chris
I had been wondering how your Mum was. So sorry about the broken hip - it must be so painful. So hard for you too. You are doing all that you can do, please know that. Hugs and prayers, Laura
Hi Laura, yes, I know that I'm doing as much as I can. Meg has been a tower of strength and my oldest friend Sue has also been a great sounding board. Some days I cry with Mum and others I have to laugh at her responses.
The nurses are wonderful and she has a favourite called Annette. She actually reminds me of myself as a younger woman and maybe that brings a memory back for Mum. Love Chris
it's a lovely picture, it will not be easy for her and for you. a big hug is coming your way, hope your mum's hip will recover. take good for yourself so can be there for her. hugs/love Gerry
Hello my friend, Ben took about 20 pictures just kept his finger on the phone clicking away. The face on Mum didn't change much, although I was laughing at Ben's jokes. Love Chris
Chris, I am so sorry to hear this. I hate this horrible disease.
Chris my prayers are with you all. Hope your mum recovers well from her hip op. My sister in the nursing home with dementia is not well at all. It is just a matter of time. Take care of yourself as well as your mum. Hugs
Thanks Shirley, it's a time thing unfortunately and she has to do physio daily. I've seen her stand up on the high walker and she grimaced a little, but did it. She just has to keep it up. Love Chris
Chris how awful for you. I hope Mum rallies round soon. A lovely pic of you both. Take care. Irene
Hi Irene, thanks for the kind words, and I hope Mum gets up and going soon too. Love Chris
Oh my goodness Chris.....hate to hear of your Mum's continuing health issues, as if she hasn't had enough to contend with and you have had your own issues to continue dealing with as well. Amazing to see smiles on both your faces despite the challenges!! Much love!
Thanks Vicki, Ben was cracking jokes and trying to get Mum to laugh and look at the phone. She doesn't realise that we take pictures on it, the expression doesn't change much. I'm doing well thanks, love Chris
So sorry, Chris, about all that you are having to go through. It is so hard to see our loved ones deteriorate. But you both look very good.
Thanks so much Dlonna, I try and do Mum's hair every time I go in. The nurses try, but they never do it like Mum likes. Love Chris
So very sorry to read about your dear mum. Love after yourself Chris.
Love to you Sarah
Thanks dear Sarah, me too! I'm trying to relax a bit more these days. Only going in to see Mum 3 times a week greatly reduces my stress level! Love Chris
So sad to hear this, Chris...I must say this is a very nice picture of you and your Mum...falling is one of the greatest risks for seniors...
Thanks so much Kim, yes, falling is very dangerous at any age and everyone says that we take a good picture. I tell Mum she looks great (when I do her hair and makeup) and so do all the nurses and she says "No, I'm not". She gets embarrassed when getting a compliment! I'm lucky in that my hair is great and easy to do. Love Chris
Chris, I am so very sorry to hear your mum has fallen and now has broken her hip. She has been through so much the past year and now this. Keep loving her and know you both are held in God's arms. And we are all giving you cyber hugs wishing they were real hugs and sending up prayer after prayer.
Thanks so much my friend, I feel them and I know God is watching over us both. Our family are trying to get into see her too, one at a time. They are all so busy and especially over the weekend with sport!!!!!!! Love4 Chris
Prayers are coming your way for both of you. So sorry mum fell and broke her hip. I is sad when they deteriorate and all you can do is watch them go down hill. Thank you for updating us. We all care for all of you. You are part of our Cure family. You look wonderful too . HUGS
Thanks Suzanne, I appreciate your lovely comments. I'm doing really well.
I'll go see Mum tomorrow (Sunday). Amy, Ophelie, Delphi and their dog Maisie went into see her today and she loved seeing them. Love Chris
Chris thanks for your update. I have been thinking about you and wondering how all is with you. So sad to hear about your mum, life has not been easy for her or you recently but she is in a safe place. Take care and I hope all is progressing well for you too.
Hi Caroline, thanks, yes I'm doing well. I was meant to go see my Radiation Oncologist on Friday but she had to cancel due to a conference she was attending. With us going away next Friday for about 10 days and then her going on holidays we've rescheduled for the 18th August.
Mum is being well cared for and is in bed a lot resting and they get her up on the high walker to move her and then into a wheelchair. She isn't happy, but at least she's getting 24 hour care. Love Chris
