I love the message of the quilt. I know you two had fun making it happen. I had a hard time freestyle quilting until until someone in a class had me hold a pencil perendicular and move a piece of paper underneath to make my design. It suddenly clicked.
A friend told me to do that too. I think you have to train your brain to remember the design. I thought I’d practice leaves or just loops but then I don’t want to ruin something good or waste either-lol I guess stippling or free motion like this will be my trademark. Seems that’s all I can do. It’s sure faster than quilting with a ruler and having to move the quilt too, like I have to do for a grid.
Just love that 'point to the cross'. You did a great thing finishing it up for her. I have a great grand boy due in Dec and hopefully after this chemo and radiation my instant energy power kicks in for some embroidery and a quilt OR stack of larger receiving blankets anyways. I am thinking of some cut onsie sayings for a little boy---only second boy in our family--yea!
Congratulations! You are opposite of me- Girls are scarce here. I have mostly boys.
Great job! Love the label and the backing is perfect The arrow placement is spot on! I also have lots of ladybug designs, they are so cute. You are a good sister!
Thanks my sister loves ladybugs. She told me when she graduated as a registered nurse she wanted a ladybug pin to commemorate her achievement. Her husband told her it cost too much. Years later he became her ex-husband-lol
WOW, Toogie, as a sister, you are the best!! Such a lot of work to finish the quilt in time! This effort and selfless work will not be forgotten and will be in the telling of many stories to come. You are a legend! Congratulations!!
Oh goodness, I didn’t do anything that special. It’s a small baby quilt, so it really didn’t take long to quilt. However, you know yourself, putting your embroidery design together takes a while and then stitching it out. I was all day on her quilt, but we ate leftovers for lunch and she wanted to go eat supper at our favorite seafood restaurant, bc she is leaving today, so we stopped after design stitched out. I trimmed jump stitches, made the label, sewed it on and we even played one game of Farkle, which she won, before she left. Thanks for commenting as I haven’t seen your avatar/ face in quiet a while.
.
Well done Toogie and it's a great message. Love Chris
Love the idea and the finishes quilt. You 2 make a good team.
I’m not too overly fond of abstract but when she ‘explained’ her vision to me, well, I liked it a lot better. I do like the rich colors and absolutely love the back fabric. Thanks
I love the quiet message in this quilt. I hope you both got to do a lot of visiting and catching up along with completing this beautiful quilt.
She has been down a month this time so we have played lots of Farkle, laughed a lot and probably both aggravated my hubby when we cut up.-lol
Wow Stunning!!!Well done you Both
Thank you very much! I am trying to encourage her to do more piecing. I think if I quilt them for her she may do more. She has tried quilting and can’t get the hang of it. She said she wanted to come watch me while I quilt. I offered her to try after a while but she didn’t want to. She said it’s easier for her to just watch and let me quilt-lol
