Loving the little lap quilt. Hope she knows it's from somebody she loves.
looking really good Chris, love the fabrics.
Thanks Mary, I have it at the Quilter's and she said she'd try and do it today! How good is that for service? Love Chris
This is just lovely, Chris. So sad that someone had to steal at the hospital from your mom. I had my social security number stolen and used for Covid test so a lab would pay it from one of two hospital systems I've had to use for heart and for cancer treatments. Someone sent in 4 Covid tests and 2 different labs. I turned this in to America's Medicare system to get off my record. They say they are investigating. A lot of theft goes on from staffing medical facilities. This love heart is a precious gift.
Thanks so much Patti, yes, it's such a sad indictment on some people's morals. I couldn't steal anything, it's just not the right thing to do.
I hope it looks good when finished. I actually ironed all the seams in the same way to the left and to the right of the quilt. In this picture the lower rows hadn't been done correctly and that annoyed me, (OCD!!!) Love Chris
It is So Beautiful!!! Going to be Awesome Quilt..Love your Fabric..
Thanks so much Sonja, yes, Roses are Mum's favourite flowers, so I've chosen fabrics with Roses all over it. Love Chris
This is the perfect quilt for Mum. She has pieces of everyone's heart wrapped up in this quilt. Are your squares about 4 inches? I know you do metric so might be hard for you to convert to inches but as it looks like the width of fabric that was my guess. Anyway, love it.
Hi Toogie, yes, it's about 4 and a 1/4 inches square. I cut them 4 and a 1/2. Don't forget that I'm old and that we had inches, feet, yards etc. most of my life up until 1970, so I still remember the imperial measurements. I'm still not comfortable with the metric system!!!!
I told my quilter that it's a bit larger on the sides, but she will work it out for me. She has just been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and is in a bad way poor girl. I've told her Mum's birthday isn't till the end of January and I'm not in a great hurry for it, so I said whenever she feels well enough. Love Chris
Lovely! Going to be a beautiful quilt. Your Mum will love it. I love the blue floral fabric. Sister has had few things missing but most were found in someone's room.
Thanks Suzanna, yes, I know things disappear in nursing homes, but my quilt was in the hospital when Mum broke her neck last November. She was only in there 3 weeks! Love Chris
P.S. Everything in Mum's wardrobe is mainly blue, she does have some black and white, so everyone knows when they see blues, that it's Mums!!!
Looking great. Sorry the other one was never found. Hugs
Hi Shirley, yes, I'm sorry too. We even had the laundry service for the whole John Hunter Hospital (biggest hospital outside of Sydney) looking for it. I had lots of calls back and forth, but no luck. Love Chris
So lovely, Chris....it so great you are able to replace the quilt that was stolen!
Hi Vicki, yes, I'm glad I can get one done. I hope she appreciates it, I know she will have it on her bed, but she won't remember I made it for her unfortunately. Love Chris
That is going to be so awesome. Love that you shared picture.
Oh Chris this is beautiful. I read earlier in the week that you were working on this and hoped we would see it. And now we are. Your mum is going to love this
Hi Caroline, I had too many other fabrics and decided on just these two in the end. I’m glad I did, it will be lovely once finished. Love Chris
