I made my adult son's Jedi costume for Halloween this year. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car while on his bicycle and broke his ankle. He had to have surgery and won't make it to school for Halloween (he is a teacher). He said he will wear it to pass candy out at home and of course there is always next year. But really he wanted it for Disneyland, he had tickets to the Oogie Boogie Bash but had the accident 1 week before and had to cancel. I made a gusset for the pants that closes by Velcro to get over the cast/boot. I can easily remove it and stitch the leg back up when he is healed.

I've made so many costumes for my 4 kids! I'm trying to remember the ones for this son: convict (as a baby and my husband and I matched), muscle man (matching with dad), blue crayon (brother was purple crayon that I shortened because he had a broken leg that year), power ranger (matching with brother and they insisted I make a pink one for their baby sister), Pikachu, Squirtle, Pillsbury Dough Boy (he won middle school costume), Harry Potter robe (as an adult). I'm sure there are more....

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Goodness a family who loves to dress up. I think that is just grand and with your designing touch--fabulous.

Very nice costume! Sorry about the broken ankle and he was fortunate that he wasn’t injured worse. I know you are thankful for that. Hope he heals well and like you said , always next year.

Wow! So many creative ideas on costumes. Grandmothers, are you paying attention to these sewing ideas? What a great looking Jedi! I used to teach and I can't imagine that work day in a cast.

I think the doctor said no work for 1 month. He has a boot now and a knee scooter so it’s getting easier.

I’m so sorry your son broke his ankle and is now missing so many activities he was looking forward to. But his costume looks great and the kids will appreciate it when he passes out the candy. You have quite the impressive record for costume making.
