Color Theory: To study how to blend together different colors, watch first five minutes of old "Golden Girls" episodes. This is especially great for quilters, but also for those of us who work with garments as well. Famous clothing designer Bob Mackie designed most of their clothes (and I think the room sets, too). Watch how he balances and coordinates colors across the four ladies' outfits and how he "pulls" colors from the kitchen print tablecloth for each of their bathrobe colors. They might be in four totally different colors, yet they all balance in intensity to produce a pleasing whole. I have seen him slam two colors that are improbable together in an outfit and they are fabulous by the way he does it, adding a scarf or some small accent. It is fun to see a color genius at work.

Very interesting!! I always thought that each lady was dressed "just right"! Now, I know it was done on purpose!! Thanks!

Bob Mackie also dressed Carol Burnett for her show and many other famous Hollywood stars. Burnett was always immaculately dressed, her clothes fitted perfectly and had a WOW factor.

Thanks for this tip. A interesting one and I have to admit I have never watched a episode of the Golden Girl's. I will have to see what I can find on that trusty site that shows so much
