Hi Cuties ! I used the 54-40 or Fight block and the Churn Dash block for this quilt top. It’s a lot of cutting and sewing HST, 4P and rails, before you can even start the blocks. And then it’s all those seams!!! Where the Churn Dash points and the Star points meet, is nightmare of thickness, even though I pinked my edges and pressed seams open, to reduce bulk. Glad to be finished. It took me longer than I wanted to spend on it. I started cutting it out Tuesday morning and today is Friday and that’s sewing all day, each day( except for cooking🙄😩 as I have a husband who thinks he still needs to eat-lol) I was hoping to finish it at least by today, because tomorrow Avery is spending the day with me!

Second picture is backside showing all those seams!😳 This will go to one of our veterans, on my most recent list of 10. I think I need to make 2 or 3 more, before I’m caught up. Well that’s not exactly true. Emily, another member just asked me to help her make 5. It turns out one is a 103 year old veteran that was at the presentation, for a 98 year old, we just awarded a quilt to. We met him at the assisted living facility where they both live. We also made their newspaper! . I guess I’ll stay stitching!-lol

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful! You are so fast, even working all day, I could not get this cut and pieced together in less than a week. Did you have a pattern or did you make your own?

Thank you, I used the pattern below, in my reply to ksgram1’s comment. Check out the link. I may have had to sew more rows to make it wide & long enough for QOV. I can’t remember, that was last week-lol

Toogie, this is outstandingly beautiful! I've never seen these blocks used together before. Did you design this on your own? I'm loving it.

Here is the link for the pattern or blocks I used.

Glad you like it, thanks- I used a solid block in my center Stars instead of the 4 patch.

Thank you so much for sharing! My granddaughter is new to quilting and was looking for something more masculine. I, too, although being a person with low vision, want to try this one as well. Thank you so much for inspiring me to try again at something that I love so much.

You warm my heart with this comment. You are most welcome to the pattern and if there are anymore with a pattern that you like, don’t hesitate to ask. I am more than willing to help. I’m also glad to know younger ones are interested in learning.❤️

Toogie, this quilt took my breath away! It is STUNNING! How on earth are you going to top this for your 50th quilt? Well done and bless you for kindheartedness.

Thank you Oly! It so good to ‘hear’ from you!!! I will have to think hard to come up with something, unless you have ideas?

Thanks mops, I think I would lose my enthusiasm for making these quilts, if I didn't have variety. This is my 45th QOV , since I joined 5 years ago and not one are the same. I would like to do something spectacular, for my 50th quilt, but I haven't thought just what.

You are amazing Toogie!! Such a pretty quilt, where do you find the time to do all this sewing? LOL
We ,moved house 4 weeks ago and I am still unpacking boxes and washing things before I find a place to put them!

Oh my! The thought of me moving would be overwhelming. I think you are doing good to still be unpacking. After so many years of 'stuff'' it may would take me months.-lol
Like I said earlier I sewed most of all three days. I am retired, so I can do that, at times if I want to. Thanks and I hope you like your new place.

Laura if you can sew a straight, even seam, you can do this. Thank you

I’m just normal don’t be amazed 😉😁Thank you for looking. I saw this a long time ago and just remembered to try to make it. With 45 under my belt, for Quilts of Valor and no 2 alike, I am always looking for inspiration or new ideas.
