Quilt made on the serger other than the binding-Made at home requested by my serger club for a Children's Home. I used the cut off end scraps for a pillow. One square was smaller than the other 3 on the pillow so does not match in the center but nonetheless I got a pillow for the child. For the quilt squares they were made with 6 inch strips of fabric, serging 2 colors in a tube, then the cutting on a 45 degree ruler, open the cut square--each edge is on a diagonal so edges are stretchy. Then sew blocks together or with a sash to make them larger. Was a fast quilt top. Learned a new way to make a square.

I'm glad we got to see the finished quilt. Very cheerful colors to uplift the child's heart.

I hope a boy gets this. I feel any of the other women will usually choose floral fabric or pastels. I'll get to see who turns in quilts on June 11. I tried using fabrics I had. Had to get a piece of scrap for my sash at our extension office donated fabric. Too far to drive to town for something that would do. Thanks Karen.

This was very quick to do with that serger tube technique. Worst part was laying out on my carpet to pin layers. I always have to remove pins and still smooth out with my hand--fabrics seem to want to 'scoot'. Thanks Kim.
