Has anyone come across or even bought the Brother Skitch machine? It is an app operated embroidery machine.

I just checked this out on Youtube. I can already tell you I would feel like my hands were tied with this machine. I hate having to use apps on my phone for most things. There just aren't that many ways to edit things. This one comes with a design element... but from my experience on two different Brother machines with the ability to design... they are nothing more than an auto digitizer. There are no decision on which stitch order. I like being able to put my designs on an USB thumb drive and select from hundreds. They say thee machine can hold -"up to" 20 designs. think it's not very pleasing to look at... kind of like a coffee maker. I think it would be better to invest in a simple sewing and embroidery machine for around $800 than hav to pay a monthly fee for an app driven machine. LOL. I wonder if this is the future of embroidery.. I.hope not.

Jan thanks for your reply. Now are we getting older that we dont like using apps on our phones? While this machine isnt expensive I feel the monthly cost of the app will add up fast. I dont think that this is the future of machine embroidery but I was intrigued to find out just what the the machine was. I wasn't impressed at all by the reviews that I read and am in no hurry to get one of these machines. Brother are about to release a new embroidery machine? In the UK there is already great interest as to what is going on and one can already put a deposit on whatever it is. So the coffee maker machine is getting the thumbs down from us

I do have to agree with you on the decision on this machine. I seldom use a 4x4, so wouldn't do me much good, but this possibly may be good for some of the young girls that want to learn to do it....also, they are sure more tech savvy than I am. I watched it on YouTube and made a very quick decision, not to even bother looking any further. That, and having 3 machines sitting in my room. LOL

I think it is going to be expensive to run as there will be a monthly fee for the app if I have read it correctly. So often we read of people who are upgrading to larger frames but with this there will be no such opportunity

Never heard of it...but I don't get to the sewing center anymore. I am waiting on a hip replacement, and don't get out much at all anymore. But I am going to have to google that. Sounds interesting. Are you thinking of buying one?

I dont visit places with embroidery machines on sale as there are none near me. I saw a mention of the above and then went on to find out more. This machine uses the Artspira app which is paid for monthly. The hoop size is 4"x4". So the answer is NO. I am just curious as to others here have one and if so what they think of it
