Hello Cuties , I needed to make a quilt for a U.S. Navy veteran. I had the naval fabric that I used here, in the outer border, but I fretted over just what to make. I finally decided to try an anchor. It’s BIG but not as big as the real ship’s anchor-lol- The second picture is the top when I realized a mistake and had to change out a square. The top before quilting measures 65x81 and is QOV #55 I hope she likes it!

As you know we have been going through a stressful time with Nora’s health. We did get some good news Tuesday that no cancer or autoimmune diseases were detected. Maybe subconsciously I was lead to make this ‘ship’s anchor’ for the veteran, bc we have held firm to our ‘Jesus anchor’. Who knows but I will always relate this quilt to good news for Nora. Have a nice day friends-Toogie

I love how you are able to personize each quilt to the branch of service. And I love how you connected the naval anchor with your need to be anchored to Jesus. It is a difficult chapter you and your family have been living through, but a lesson we all need to be reminded of during the crazy time we are living in.

toogie creating something in fabric (when trying to not think about what you have been through with Nora) I have always found to be a stress buster. This is a very different quilt to your usual work. I like this in its simplicity and I am sure that the new owner will be delighted with it.
