Hi everyone, thanks for your wishes. I had a wonderful day - my sister is over from South Australia as Mum has taken a turn for the worse and has been bedbound.
I went to see Mary Poppins stage play at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle with Amy and her girls and Jewls and I and then last night Trev and I hosted dinner for 12 of our family - Ben's boys are with their mother through the week and couldn't come.
I got some lovely presents, gift vouchers from my favourite sewing machine shop Thorpes and Bunnings, plus Licorice from Dana's girls - I love licorice (Darrell Lea one) and of course the show and lunch paid for by Amy and Steve.
Today we've been with Mum and we did her hair and makeup and took her in her new chair into the dining room and she had a little bit to eat. The RN says this is normal after her dreadful fall 2 weeks ago - that's why I asked Jewls to come over as we don't know how long Mum has to live. Knowing her she could rally, but the RN (Registered Nurses) are saying that once people stop eating and drinking they slowly die.
It's just a waiting game and we are ready for that, it's just a long drawn out time for all the family.
Steve and the girls Ophelie and Delphi aren't going to see Mum anymore as they want to remember her the last time they saw her.
Love Chris
P.S. I haven't done any sewing for the past month and need to get back to doing something. It's just been too difficult dealing with Mum. I'm alright and my Medical Oncologist is very happy with me. I see the Radiation Oncologist at the end of this month and hope to have good news from her too. I don't see my Breast surgeon till next March and my Heart Doctor is thrilled with my progress with weight, fitness etc. It's good to be alive!!
Good to hear all the news from you. I have been busy with so much but I knew your birthday was close. I just didn’t know I missed it. Sorry but glad you were treated extra special. Life’s cycles are not easy sometimes, so I feel for you about your mum. Some of us have already walked in the shoes you’re wearing now so we understand. Timing isn’t up to us. Hope all your checkups are good and yes it’s good to be alive!
Happy birthday on your special day. Hope you enjoy the day with everyone. HUGS Suzanne
Happy Birthday Chris. Given the time difference it must be almost over by now. I hope you had a great day with your loved ones.
Hug, Martine
