Hi, I have printed out the color chart for almost every design I have purchased from Embroidery Library and also DLed the charts onto a thumb drive to have available when needed. They also have a great thread conversion chart. It is easy to use. Just bring up the color chart of the design you are using and with a simple click the web site will convert to the type of thread you are using so you just match the color numbers from your thread stash. Enjoy making beautiful projects with the colors you enjoy.
Each design comes with a color chart so the design will match the picture. Somewhere on their site they explain about the colors and to use the color chart. Nothing is wrong. If you really want to see wild colors, download in DST, whew, that will blow your socks off.
The colors issue is very common with all companies and designs. What they said is true. I think of it as freeing me up to choose my own idea of what the colors might be. However, it can be irritating. Often the colors change as you put the design into your brand of machine. I do recommend getting an OTT light so you get the actual colors you want on cloudy days or at night. Once I stitched out browns on ivory towels and the next morning the browns were a hideous purple, not exactly right for tree bark.
