Smahane, when i want to embroider a design more than once on the same material, before i start sewing i make all my measurements on the material (first) using sewing pins. then i hold the garment up (or hang it on something) and stand away from it to get a better visual of whether i am happy with the positions.

If i am ok with them, (then) i will go back and make lots of marks with fade away marking pen. I actually draw a line right around the inside of the hoop, then i make a big cross from top to bottom and left to right inside the hoop, for me it is easier to re align the hoop if the lines are easier to see. If your hoop doesn't have marking lines, or notches, on it you could attach pieces of tape to the four matching cross-points on the hoop to make it easier to mark your crosses from. I have done this and added a picture for you to see. I hope this helps but if it isn't what you needed we'll all keep trying until we get it right for you. hugs n roses, M

I think she is talking about possibly a design such as a border, U embroider 6 or seven inches then have to move fabric n hoop. jrob has explained the marking of crosshairs to help keep the alignment straight. I often make removeable marks on my hoop itself to line my fabric or design back up. then wipe mark ofF hoop when I'm finished.. You have 2 of the very best trying to help U jrob & Shirlener. Hopefully they'll help u to understand smahane. Welcome to the cute fmly & hang n there, we'll do all n our power to help U *4u

Smahane, I don't have any idea that it is EVER possible to embroider exactly in the same place a second time as you did the first. For one thing the fabric is changed from the embroidering and when you take the hoop off, there is no way to put it back exactly where it was, so I suggest that you do not unhoop your project until you are completely satisified. Now, you can line up an embroidery to do a border and have it come out straight, by either using a water soluable marker to draw the crosshairs (or north, south, east, west, line directions) or sometimes I mark on my water soluable topping stabilizer and use those lines to go by. I hope this makes sense and if you have a problem, let me know what is your native language and someone here will translate this for you. The link below shows how to line up your design to repeat and have it be straight.;)

Well smahane - if what you are saying is - you put it in the hoop - then change the center of the design to a different center point - then when you are finished - more than likely - you will have to save the design - to keep the center - where you last stitched - most models of embroidery machines have a center point and they will always go back to that point - if you varie the center - you will have to save that new center someway - do you have a feature to save your design after it has been stitched? What machine do you have - that could also help - as someone with that machine can also help tell you what to do with it. OK - did this help or can we assist you in another way? We just want to understand the full depth of the question - so we can answer it correctly and not mislead you - dear one - OK?

are you asking about hooping again to embroider over the first design or do you mean when you stitch it the second time, it isn't the same? Tell me more and I will be most happy to try and help you. Welcome to the site, too!;)
