However, the default density in the Embird program is 4.0... I seem to like how 4.0 stitches out best, however I'm not testing the designs with all types of fabric... I'd like to get some food for thought. What settings are you girl's (or guy, sorry Eric) adjusting your density to?

I am not sure what density I use because my Digitizer Pro sets it automatically depending on the fabric I want to use.If I click on cotton, fleecy, stretch knit, blanket etc. it will adjust the density accordingly.

Well, since I am starting to manual punch and my machine is packed already to go to Columbus I can not test the density and I'm using the default (but I don't know yet which it is, hahaha). Flower and XoXo

Hi Teri, I like 4.0 for most designs. Small designs i might want to increase the density to 5 - 5.5 even 6 to reduce the number of stitches, some satin stitch borders i may want to do that with too. Sfumato stitch obviously needs to be way less dense than other designs. I have rarely needed to decrease the tension less than 4.0. hope this helps, hugs n roses, M

And when i read that it still sounds back to front to me, like the smaller number should mean less stitches???? instead of the other way round! This embroidery terminology can seem really weird. LOL!

Smaller number means shorter stitches and that results in more stitches.

That's of course only half of the story, the program also sets stitch rows closer together when the stitch length is lower.
