My sister just got one but hasn't used it much yet. Went with her for moral support to her first class. It really looks great. She lives 2 1/2 hours away but bought it here where I live since she didn't have a dealer close to her. I'm anxious to see what she has done with it.
I will be very interested in her opinion of it as I may have to get a new machine and have no idea which one i would buy.

I see how it is, yesterday you were running around crying about your machine acting up and saying you do not want to change it.Today you have a new one already is sight, ah! lol Just kidding, don't know much about it but at least can keep your post up so others can help you. Flower*
Oh Adel, I really love my Elna but am worried since the company who imported it is no longer the Elna importer and may not honour the warranty. Elna is owned now by Janome but not all Janome dealers sell or represent Elna. I'm having trouble even getting my phone calls returned, so i'm thinking if this is the kind of support I'm going to get for the life of the machine, I just may have to consider another machine. This is not easy and far from my first choice, as the XQ2 has features the others are still just catching up with and certain features no other machines have at all. So far, the Diamond comes closest to doing what the XQ2 has always done, with advantages of extra size but disadvantage of still not having my favourite Elna features. (big sigh!) It all comes down to money we don't have. I need $15,000 for my breast lump surgery and can't afford that, so a new machine is just a dream. Think i'll go and buy some lottery tickets. Sometimes i think it's all too hard! LOL! hugs n roses, M
Hehehe! It sure would be a dream - lots of space. They all are coming out with a great big new machine - aren't they?
yes it is a nice looking machine but that darn thing better clean house for that price i am happy with my 500.00 brother lol
Happiness is.... a wonderful Brother!
Mine drives me crazy at times but i love him to bits! LOL!!! hnr, M
I have the Diamond. The MRP in USA is $8999. It takes all formats. Uses all former Viking hoops, MOST feet. (Spanish hem foot for SE won't work on Diamond) Due to larger sewing surface, etc. if you have additional throat plates for your other machines, they won't work either. But most throat plates are machine specific anyway. I haven't gone to my classes yet, next two Sats are the classes, but will let you know after that! I have been using it, but mainly for things I'd do on the SE. Right now I love the little bit extra in the 120x120 hoop. Often a design for the 100x100 is just a TINY bit too large, and I have to resize it. Sometimes in resizing you loose the appearance, and I am afraid to resize free standing lace as it may fall apart! There's a new feature about placing things in the hoop...but I'll have to do it to explain it! This Sat. will be about the machine, the next embrodiery. Will keep you updated.
Don't have to much fun. MM says it should clean house at that price. I think it should clean, cook and do the laundry. lolGlad you could get one.
How exciting. I'm glad you could get the Designer Diamond. That extra space is great. It has one huge embroidery space!!!
Wow, you lucky girl Gerry. The video about it looks phenomenal! The price here is pretty good considering shipping and import duty to Aus, but the dollar exchange rate is really high now, the price would increase dramatically if our dollar dropped.
Will look forward to your comments after your first lessons. Have fun, i'm green with envy. hnr, M
The one I looked at was $8900 US. It takes a format that I have never seen before. I think it's a PB3 or something like that. It runs very quietly!!
I checked the designs it supposedly reads all the most popular formats.

I've been looking at it here.
What day in August do you win yours?
I'll wait until you tell me how it is. LOL! hugs, Meg
That's nice that it takes all fornmats, because I asked the lady who was doing the demonstration, and she said that I would have to convert my PES designs. That was discouraging.
I think it is Vp3. But lots of formats can be brought in even with my Design SE.
It looks fantastic, but is not yet available in Europe, isn't even on their website here. I wonder what it will cost! My Designer1 is almost 9 years old, never any problems, so I should not even be thinking about it. But that huge embroidery hoop.. You can always dream, can't you.
