Your pillow is beautiful. Is it out of velvet? You did a great job. So glad you enjoyed your class and your trip to Alabama. A flower for you.
It's not velvet...but I'm not sure what it is! Part is taffeta. We had different choices, & I just went for the color combo I liked. Tks!
Oh Gerry, I would love to learn to make this project - how very pretty. *4U
Stunning. How did you do those leaves, topstitch one side to a filling and then attach the back, or the other way round: topstitch the completed leave. It's so pretty!!
2 leaves together with batting on the back. Sew all around leaving an opening at the bottom, cut out leaving a sorta "stem" out from the opening. Turn (the hard part) then free hand the top stitching veins. When you attach them you will lay the petals on a pattern you've put on the pillow top, stitch across bottom, trim that "stem" thing, flip over & stitch across bottom again. That big button covers the last 4 petals attachment spot. It was easier than it sounds! Or maybe Pam made it seem easy! The petals are sorta "floppy" they are only attached at the bottom of each petal.
I be that was a hard job but it is beautiful & well worth the effort *4U
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW I'm completely stunned! what a gorgeous pillow *****
