It is lovely
Sandra, this is my friend, I might be able to convince her to a trip to your town also one day for a get together.
No Need to convince me Kezza and Sandra. Will love to part of your little trip Rossie
Just out of curiosity, how many hours did this project take? Your mother-in-law is certainly smiling. Beautiful!
Thank you for the input. I don't know how long it took as I was going to do a table runner, but the material was pure white and of course looked odd with the Lace. I Suppose about 8-10 hours. Mum was a sewer too and did beautiful grub roses. If she had lived she would have been 100 on the 10 June Love her. Ros
This is lovely Do you have to make the lace and then stitch it to material I have not done lace and would like to
Yes I made the lace on 541 Vylene (2 layers) cut it back and then stitched if to the Material after Measureing (Do not wash before stitching as it sits much better and easier to handle. Then I did the embroidering. (Not securing it in the hoop -but using a basting stitch to hold it down. That's why we print out templates too.So we can place it in the right position good luck with your try. Ros
Stunning doiley. You are a star! *4U
Thank you so much. Can I un-chain myself from the sewing machine Yet? Love to sew.
Rosie, you have come through with your picture and the wait was so very worth it - what a lovely project - this is stunning - I love the lace and the design - thank you for sharing it with us and I do believe you have made just the right doily for your old singer! *4U Shirlene

I Have photos of the Grand children on it with an old machine my mother gave me when I was around 10 yrs old. You know the one Singer with a handle about 6" high and did a lovely chain stitch. Waiting for the Grand-daughter to show and interest. She's now 9 Ta gain Ros
Oh my - why don't you take a picture of it on the Singer - we would love to see it.
Beautiful lace and great design.
Thank you. Have another one nearlt finished with the left over lace. I think that I went overboard with it. See I changed my mind and decided to something else and then I have all this lace over. What to do-What to do. Love Ros
oh, how very lovely...and good going on posting, now you have it down pat!;)
This is Beautiful and you have chosen a great spot for it (the old and the new)
This is so beautiful! It must have taken AGES to make - well done you. Love and flowers from Dianne x x x
Yes Dianne it did. But it was a labor of love as I do enjoy sewing etc. I spend a LOT of time sewing. Keeps me sane. When I have a big project on (Quilts ) I like to finish them yesterday, so I sew for around 10-12 hour days .Depending on what I can get away with. Just as well I have an understanding husband. One of my last quilts took 6 weeks to put together and then another 10 days to quilt(by machine) New Pfaff Grand quilter. so no sleepies then . Ta again Ros
Roslyn welcome to the family of the embroiderers!
Ta Much. With all I've done over the years this is the first I've been game to put on site. Just did a Cream "Infinity Quilt" for my sister-in-law with dusty pink and Gold More on the way. As I love to sew and make things-which I give to rellies and friends Ros
