As promised, the birthday card. I've been working on it for the last twelve hours! The photo doesn't do the colours justice, the embroidery is pretty accurate but for some reason the card and parchment have come out much darker than they really are and too purple, it's really a rose-pink, and it looks flat and it isn't at all! The butterfly circle was the biggest challenge - this card is eight-and-a half inches square and I only have a four inch hoop, so the design was stitched in four sections, rotating and rehooping each time. I only had to scrap one attempt, and that went wrong at the first rotation so I hadn't gone too far into it. Got it right second time! The outer frame is parchment paper, embossed and pierced; I thought I wouldn't make it too fussy because there is so much detail in the embroidery. Think I'll go to bed now ... it's 1 a.m.!! Love to all from Dianne x x x

This is absolutely beautiful, Dianne. The circle of small butterflies compliments the big one nicely. I've never done embossing on parchment paper, looks like a lot of work!

The FSL butterfly is from Stitchdelight.com, all the rest is my own - I'll be adding it to my website (http://hands-and-heart.bravehost....) when I get round to it!

OH my Dianne - this is so wonderful - I can only imagine how truly beautiful it has to be in person - as not camera or scanner can pick up the beauty of embroidery or your lovely embosseing and piercing on parchment. I wish I had a bouquet of flowers to give you - the receiver of this will adore it. *4U

Thank you. I'm pleased with it, the FSL butterfly is only attached by the body so its wings stand away from the card, which you can't see here. Love (and good night :-) and a flower of course, from Dianne x x x
